  • Bottom line: An NBA career isn't a blessing that comes from a mission.

Thank you, Dr. Obvious, for enlightening us here in Cougartown. I hope that's not why you lost your faith.

NBA blessings usually come from talent, lots of hard work and a little draft luck.

Really funny that you think this is a revelation of any kind.

I'm a victim of my own success. Ten years ago I said these things on Cougarboard and everyone went nuts. Same with BYU and the Pac 10(12).

            • The difference between the Lone Peak kids on the roster now (Austin, Sharp and Haws) compared to the ones who will play over the next few season (Haws, Emery, Mika and Frank Jackson) besides the fact that all of the new crop of kids were bigger recruits and had higher rankings, they played a national schedule against the top players in the country. Most of those players that they played against and beat handily were or will be NBA lottery picks. They have more big game experience than half the current roster.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
