It thus appears that Brazilian basketball is the real Mickey Mouse operation.

I have my season basketball tickets. I can't wait. If it is as fabulous as last year, I bring blankets and let my kids just camp out all over our section. We bring card games, monopoly, radios, etc. and just hang out. If memory serves me correct, I think the U actually paid me to go to the games last year just to 'fill seats.'

This year will be even better. Its not every season that you get to see Evergreen State, Sacramento State and Wright State come to the Huntsman Center. Don't laugh, Utah will have a huge target on its back...those schools want to make a name for themselves, so they will see these teams play the games of their years...there is no letting up for these Utes. Sign me up for these games and call me spanky! Go Utes!

Look at it this way, US: When you are an old codger you can talk about these days to your grandkids and the youngsters on message boards like this one. You were there during The Dark Times.

When I saw the headline I thought they were going to talk about the green jerseys they were wearing on their trip. What was up with that?

With Majerus' current health issues, the Utes need to honor him now. We need to do something this season and hopefully get it done while he is still alive. Hill needs to get over himself, pull his head out of his ass, and honor the most important figure in the history of Ute basketball.

I hope the deposition gets over quickly.

Hill wants to honor RM and has spoken of doing something special like retiring his sweater, hanging it in the Hunty, something along those lines. It would be a mistake to say RM hasn't been honored because of Hill.

                          Andy Katz:

Too often we hear the negative news about college athletes. Well, there is something genuine and kind going on with the Utah men’s basketball team. The Daily Utah Chronicle highlighted the good deeds being conducted by Utah basketball players Jared DuBois, Brandon Taylor, Justin Seymour and Dakarai Tucker, who spent some Sunday mornings this summer feeding the homeless in Salt Lake City with prepared sandwiches. The humanitarian aid has caught on to other members of the Ute athletic department. Utah coach Larry Krystkowiak, who is trying to rebuild the Ute program, told the Chronicle: "They are going to represent us and give us a sense of pride."
The Chrony story linked is pretty good.

Yes that is great that they are helping out, but I'm more concerned about winning basketball games right now. I'll take jerks that can win games, over nice guys that lose right now.

Think back on the great Ute basketball teams of the last 20 years and tell me how many were populated or led by self-absorbed jerks?
