  • That stinks that BYU is going to lose to Loyola. I don't think I will bother going
    Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Hey, a-hole, when she gets it going, she's near impossible to contain.

      • I'm very interested to see the LMU game. I think they were easily the 4th best team in the conference and if they really are a much better team with Hamilton, they could make it a fun game at the MC. That said, I like how our team is developing. I think LMU gives us a game in the first half and then in the second half we run them out of the gym. BYU by 20.

Thus far, my WCC predictions have been spot on, including Gonzaga losing @ SMC & will lose @ BYU; however, having said that, I'd take the bet above.

I have yet to miss a spread or straight up bet in WCC.

BYU is going to struggle somewhat with LMU on Thurs. While LMU will most likely lose @MC, it'll be within single-digits, maybe even an OT thriller.

However, I heard their starting SG will be out vs BYU from a head injury he suffered vs Gonzaga...alas, as you're all well aware, Ashley Hamilton will be back this game. He's the X-factor LMU has been missing this season, he had 23 pts vs UCLA before being injured(although the Pac-12 sucks), and had 16 pts vs Zags in only his 2nd game back. Sorry, couldn't resists...

            Who is LMU?

            Should I care?

Doubt it. I will go ahead and agree with K-dog. It will be very surprising if we don't win by double digits and 20 point victory is not out of the question. They will keep it tight for a while and then will get run out of the gym in the second half.

In 1989 and 1990 you should have cared about LMU. Currently, you shouldn't care.

So you predicted an LMU upset of BYU earlier. Now you're saying LMU will lose. No wonder you have never missed a spread or straight up bet in WCC!

                  • 3 teams, even at-large bids, for WCC this season?

Joe Lunardi aka "Mr. Brackets" currently has Zags & St Marys as 5-seeds & BYU an 11-seed.

Number's wise using the ESPN/Real-time RPI:

                    SMC is(17-2):
5-2 against top 100 rpi teams
3-1 against top 50 rpi teams
1-1 against top 25 rpi teams

Worst loss is against 60 rpi Denver.
Gaels are in a much better position this season compared to last with decent wins and no bad losses.

                    Gonzaga is(14-3):
4-3 against top 100 rpi teams
1-3 against top 50 rpi teams
0-3 against top 25 rpi teams

Worst loss is against 23 rpi St Mary's
Only 3 losses are against top 25 rpi teams and best win against 42 rpi Xavier

                    BYU is(16-4):
3-3 against top 100 rpi teams
1-3 against top 50 rpi teams
0-2 against top 25 rpi teams

Worst loss is against 126 rpi Utah State and best win against 47 rpi Oregon
You'd think USU would be lower rpi tho with some mof there results but there not

So you can see, none of the top 3 teams really have a bad loss this season, as long as that remains true and they can sweep the rest of the conference I don't see why 3 teams to the tournament can't happen. It's a good thing to remember that with some other leagues being down there should be a bigger bubble this
                    season.

3 teams in the Dance is VERY respectable and may match or beat any Conference in the West this season; for instance, the Pac-12 may only get 2 & MWC probably 3...

A lot can happen between now & then, yet outlook looks good.

Utah State isn't usually a bad loss, this year, however . We really should have won that game, and if we could make a free throw we would have run them out of the gym. However, we are a different team these days, especially with the addition of a point guard and what with Z making baskets, hopefully the bracket committee takes pity on us if we don't win the conference or wcc tourney...

                        • Not sure if u guys heard, yet Hamilton is back this time around...lol

Hamilton has scored 40 points in three games, including a pair of road wins (San Diego and Pepperdine), including 16 last Saturday against Gonzaga in a four-point loss.
Hamilton saw 36 minutes, making 6-of-9 shots against the Zags --
Hamilton's return comes at a time when the Lions (10-8, 3-2), as evidenced by a narrow defeat to Gonzaga plus earlier wins against UCLA and St. Louis, could really shake up the WCC race.

"It creates a better offensive lineup for them," BYU coach Dave Rose said.

Rose pointed out it allows Drew Viney to forego the power-forward spot (that goes to Hamilton) and let him return to small forward, where he can be a face-the-basket threat. Viney had 13 points against BYU in the 73-65 loss at Gerston Pavilion
                          Nervous yet?
