...and Portland. There was a faux hawk wearing fellow in the very corner of the MUSS holding up some clever WCC conference sign that I didn't get a good look at. I think the other side of his sign read "you couldn't get into the WAC." I wanted to tell him that simply wasn't true, but I would've had to have walked across a couple sections of seating. My experience last night was nothing short of extremely hospitable. I was down in the lower bowl, section D, row 16, sitting next to a lovely Ute family with an adorable adopted child. The Ute fans I encountered handled themselves with quiet dignity. Had my family attended with me, I'm positive they would have left the arena without a single drop of beer on them.

That was classic so many different ways to go with that one.

Oddly enough, all reports indicate that the Ute fans didn't even give him a lukewarm round of applause. Contrast that to Arizona last year where the fans seemed to appreciate what they had just witnessed and gave him a standing O. Speaks volumes.

Ute fans went wild when Jimmer missed the dunk. I guess you take small victories where you can find them.

So far this school year, Utah has racked up several of these mini-wins upon which they can hang their blue Block U hat:

1. Notre Dame band director writes letter exonerating Utah band from being ungracious guests at football game.

2. Utah football team only loses by 23 points to Boise State in the Vegas Bowl

3. Jimmer misses dunk en route to 47 point night.

It said something like "At least our team relies on more than one player."

Did anyone else catch the in-game Utah trivia promo? The question asked which Utah player had scored the "moist points." It was quickly removed and several Ute coeds were seen exiting the arena in an offended fit.

Thank heavens for DVRs. I didn't get home until the end of halftime, so I missed that awesome first half. I can't wait to sit down and watch it tonight.

Another thing I forgot to add I love the moral high ground Ute fans on UF.n were taking saying that Rose should be reprimanded for showing poor sportsmanship by leaving Jimmer in. Even Boylen was pissed when asked about saying no comment and actually asking Rose about it during the pregame handshake.

Is that what Boylen was saying to Rose during their post-game handshake? And did you read his lips or did he address it in a post-game interview? I'm curious because I couldn't tell what he was saying from just watching on TV.

In the post game he was asked directly about his thoughts on bringing Jimmer back into the game.

His response: Im not going to comment on that.

I suppose he didnt want to offend Kyle Whittingham's onside kick sensibilities, so he chose to remain silent

Boylen also went on an on about the "games within the game," and how the Utes won the free throw game and the rebounding game. He indicated that he would try to build on that.

ain't that the truth. Over and over they'd let them get uncontested shots. It makes me worried for when we play better teams. If we can't defend better, we won't win much in March. I get the feeling that Rose just gives up on the defensive side of the ball and just figures we can out run them and out score them. That's frustrating.

But haven't we already played many, many, many better teams and succeeded?
