I really hope Hill has already sent out feelers to Gillespie and Theus and if either is willing to take the job, I don't see any reason to not pull the trigger now.

I'm thinking Jimmer is a little more like a white Eddie House.

Neither is the best athlete out there, but both can be just awesome scorers. Eddie House had 61 points in a game and the same types of explosive offensive performances as Jimmer when he was at ASU.

Agreed. I still think House is the best comparison, in terms of a guy who also had NBA success, for Jimmer.

Some positives for Utes fans:

Here is a nice shot of the arena about 10 minutes before tipoff. The good news is that red seats almost always fade over time but these have really retained their color. Good investment.



The in game experience is notable. BYUs player intro is basically an NBA ripoff...lights go dim, annoying crowd noise reaches deafening levels, ceiling to floor white curtains with projected images, surround sound blaring, smoke machines fill the court while the players dramatically come out one by one.

In contrast, the Hunstman Center chose the vintage, old school route. The Utah player intro is an homage to the ABA, without distracting crowd noise and lights are turned up at full force so people can see the players and talk to them on the court from the comfort of their own seats. Unfortunately, no calliope for the player intro music, but hopefully the PAC money will help with that. Here is a shot of what appears to be a bucket that holds some sort of steam machine at the end of a very long extension cord. I assume that since was the Rivalry game, Utah busted out the second steam machine



Later in the game, during a time out, Swoop came out on stilts! I think the kids really enjoyed that especially but I know fans young and old love stilts. You can tell that the seats were still not filled, undoubtedly because most of the fans were roaming the beautiful concourse.

Jimmer nothing like Damon, on or off the court. I think he has a similar game to Luke Ridnour.

BTW, Utah was kind enough to remind everyone on the screen that going into tonights game, the all time byu utah hoops matchup was tied.

Listen up, if Utah and BYU were publically traded companies, Utah would be a buy right now and BYU would be a sell. The future belongs to Utah.
