Zylstra is having a nice second half after not impressing in the first. If he can give us what he's doing right now consistently I'd be ecstatic.

Yeah, CJ, why did you low ball the Cougars?
        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Somebody should remind him however, that when you suck you should give up the ball. Get behind the arc and wait for it to come to you.

How is Martineau on this team? He is not a D1 player. Not even close.

Finally Josh Scott who is a freshman for BYU-H I watched play several times in Highschool here in Lehi. I am shocked he is playing beyond HS.
Cj, anyone at Hartnell that byu might be after this season?

I don' think so. DJ Harrison is still there so if we do get desperate for a JC point guard they may bring him in next year.

I wish the games against Chicago St and MSVS were the first games of the season, instead of seeing Fresno and USU early on.

It's clear the new guys still need a lot of work on the offensive system in live action. Having Emery on the court will make a big difference, instead of putting 3-4 new guys on the court at once.

Kyle Collinsworth needs to play a lot. His feel for the game is superb for a true freshman.

I think Rogers could turn into a decent scoring threat but he needs more minutes too.

I think he'll be fine once he gets more familiar with his role. He's used to being a primary scoring option and now he's going to be a secondary option that is mostly a jump shooter off someone else's creative play.

I actually thought he showed a little bit more effort on defense last night. That is what will determine if he can play or not.

Why no walkons for this years team?

                            ? Why should they?

Blowout win like we expected over CSU. This is going to be a very fun year.

                              My worry:

I am a bit nervous about the amount of threes this team is shooting.

                              vs FSU 6 for 21
                              vs USU 7 for 26
                              vs CSU 11 for 31

I don't like living any dying by the three. Against teams with good perimeter defenders this BYU team is going to be vulnerable unless they get more balance. Jimmer is shooting 11 for 24 (45%) I am not worried about him. The rest of the team is 13 for 54 (24%). The rest of the team is shooting waaaaaaaay too many threes. Maybe it is just that we have blown two of these teams out and it gets sloppy which results in more threes. I also know we are an uptempo team that gets more possessions which result in more than a typical amount of three point attempts. But I really don't want to be a team that shoots much more than 20 threes per night especially is everyone except Jimmer continues to shoot below 30%. So far this year the team has taken 205 shots of which 78 were from three point range (38%).

We won the games and I am happy but it is something to watch as the season progresses IMHO.

I am not too worried about the threes. I think most of it can be attributed to sloppy and lazy play in the second half of blow outs.

However, I am concerned about Emery's poor shooting. But I think he'll figure it out and start to trust his shot again. He's hesitating now and it's showing. And Rogers, the supposed 3 point bomber has yet to find his stroke. But my biggest concern is Abuou. He is attempting way too many three-pointers. I think he has half as many attempts in 3 games as he did all last year. And he's a horrible 3-pt shooter.
