This will be their first lost since December of 2010. Yes, that is 2 full years.
Game over. LP wins by 23. Very impressive. They have now beat the 13th ranked team in the country by 40 and the 3rd ranked team by 23. Tomorrow they most likely play the 5th ranked team in the country.

Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

As impressive as this is for LP (and congrats to them on the big wins) this is, IMO, a bit of a referendum on the national ranking of high school teams (whether football or basketball). Subjective rankings are ridiculous n college, but they are exponentially more ridiculous in high school.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Boo!
Do you have to be a buzzkill about everything?

Interesting. I just looked at LP's remaining schedule. LP plays Chester again on January 12 in Chester. Should be interesting to see how Chester treats this rematch.

This isn't about LP specifically, but just about these cross-country games generally. When a team goes and plays against a team on the other side of the country, who foots the bill for that game? It seems like it would be kind of a frivolous expense for the school to pick up, but I also would have a hard time believing the individual players and their families are expected to pick up the tab.
Sorry to be a huge buzzkill, it just seems kind of exorbitant and silly to me.

Callaway of MS, the team they beat by 18 Tuesday, was a preseason top 25. As DH mentions, these national rankings are a bit of a joke to an extent, but it does show these are good teams (we just don't know how good) LP is blowing out. I imagine these schools will go back and be the top teams in their states.
