Of course blue chippers are more important but its more understandable to miss on them. It would be a big blow to lose a kid like Chatman to a bottom tier Pac team.Originally posted by SeattleUte View Post
I think it's more important to get the blue chippers.
I guess the difference between us is I have a Pac 12 perspective.

Other than BYU and Utah, Chatman appeared in higher demand by higher tier teams.Originally posted by SeattleUte View Postespn gives him an 83. He's not at Loveridge's level (91).
Saying that I think Loveridge was viewed as a tweener by many programs and tif he is utilized correctly, they will find themselves wrong about him.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

Not good juju that BYU is getting the kids who want to go on missions. I liked it better when those kids went to Utah.
For 2012-2013 the roster is:
Martineau - SR
Zylstra - SR
Rogers - SR
Davies - SR
Collinsworth - JR
Haws - SO
Harrison - SO
Sharp - SO
Carlino - SO
Austin - SO
Winder - SO
Harward - FR
That leaves at least one more scholarship open. Like many I was assuming Big Love was a BYU lock, but he does not put a high value on winning games in November, December, January, February or even playing any games in March. So it would appear BYU still has one slot for next year. I think they should find a kid that is a freshman at a JC this year! I want to see 7 kids as sophmores in elgibility next year!Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

The Austin listed as a SO is Nate Austin, correct? Is he still in Texas on his mission? Coaches are pleased with Sharp right now. I think Harward and Austin are both headed for redshirts, unless Collinsworth ends up not being able to go.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostShocker.

I think they will want 5 able bodies to man both post positions. Perhaps Stephen Rogers could see some time at the 4, but my guess is Rogers is BYU's starter and primary player at the 3. I think Hartstock and Davies start backed up by Collinsworth and Sharp. I think that even if CC is totally healthy BYU will play Nate Austin this year as the 5th post player for games where BYU needs a 5th due to foul trouble or injury. I doubt he plays much and come conference play when Rose tightens his rotation I doubt he sees the floor much at all, but I still think he plays this year.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostThe Austin listed as a SO is Nate Austin, correct? I agree. Plus, last year's loss of 2 post players (Davies and CC) is fresh in mind and Rose won't want to risk something like that happening again.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostI think they will want 5 able bodies to man both post positions. The kid Andrew White from VA that BYU offered is taking 3 official visits to Texas, Kansas, and Louisville this month. I wonder if BYU gets into the Big 12 if that increases our odds. I doubt it as the kid's stock has skyrocketed since BYU offered, but it's nice to hope."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

Big 12 conference teams with the potential additions of Louisville and Pitt - would this be a little bit more than Dave Rose was looking for?"It's devastating, because we lost to a team that's not even in the Pac-12. To lose to Utah State is horrible." - John White IV

Cory Calvert, a 2012 kid out of Parker, CO verballed. I have no clue who he is. But he's a 6'2 guard who averaged 16/4/5 as a junior.

It looks like his offers were from BYU, USU, Utah, and CSU. When he committed to USU their comparison was to the Green kid that was just on their team.Originally posted by Surfah View PostCory Calvert, a 2012 kid out of Parker, CO verballed.
