Davis might be who I was thinking of. I assumed it was Pryor because I thought I remembered that the only reason the Loveridge was even talking to USU was because of his friends that already committed to USU.

Did Loveridge and Davis play on the same AAU team? Maybe that was it. I will try and find an article.

    • I must have been thinking of Davis and Bair. Both of those guys were on his U17 team pumpnrun team. Pryor was on that team as well, but now that I see both Bair and Davis played with him it makes sense.

      • Nick Emery and TJ Haws just slayed it at a tournament in South Carolina. Nick Emery scored 119 points in the tournament breaking the tournament scoring record nobody has every scored that many points in thsi tourney and that includes Kobe Bryant and Mike Bibby who both played in it as youngsters.

(They did get blasted in the finals by a team from Georgia with 3 D-1 signees Milton was led by its three Division I signees, Evan Nolte (Virginia), Shaquille Johnson (Auburn) and Charles Mann (Georgia). Nolte and Johnson combined to score 39 points while Mann chipped in with six points and seven assists.)

Lone Peak has only played 2 games against Utah teams as they are playing a national schedule and doing very well. Emery is averaging 24 per game and Haws is averaging 17.

Saturday they play in Milwaukee at the Brandon Jennings invitational against Lincoln Highschool out of NY. Notable Lincoln alumni include Marv Albert, Louis Gossett Jr, Harvey Keitel, Neil Diamond and of course NY legends Stephon Marbury and Sebastian Telfair.

I have a feeling it would be pretty darn expensive to have a kid on the LP basketball team this year.

          • Seriously, are the parents footing the bill for all that?

Nick Emery also won the 3 point contest hitting 12-15 in the first round and then 7-15 in the second. He was named to the all-tournament team which is a who's who of the nation's best HS ballers. Shabazz won MVP and TJ Haws won the Sportsmanship Award.

That Milton team they lost to is pretty damn good. Shaquille Johnson might be the sickest athlete I have seen in awhile. He won the dunk contest. He has crazy hops and LeBron like man-body for a teen. He has some unreal Youtube videos.

Still Myrtle Beach's favorite team was Lone Peak. Pretty cool for these kids.

Spectators at the convention center seldom remain impartial, and they resoundingly made the long-bombing gunners of Lone Peak (Utah) their favorite over the course of the week. The support was overwhelming in Saturday’s championship game against Milton (Ga.), and in Friday night’s double-overtime win over Whitney Young (Ill.), the Dolphins had to deal with the heckling of players on the court and cheers after missed free throws.“When [an opponent] is shooting a free throw and you’ve got the whole crowd screaming, I think you feel [the support] a little bit,” said Lone Peak sophomore T.J. Haws, a Brigham Young commitment. “It kind of feels like a home crowd here. The motivation when you score and the place goes nuts, it’s a good feeling.“I had no idea we were going to have this. . . . I have no idea why people like us.”

Not sure if this was mentioned anywhere, but LP blew out vaunted Lincoln HS from Brooklyn. 90-63. Nick Emery was MVP with 31 points and had 8 threes.

Emery highlights start at 1:40. Note the Jimmer range.

I posted in another thread I think. Lincoln was 9-0 and got absolutely waxed by Lone Peak. Haws had 17 in the game.

Sorry I didn't see it. I was debating whether to put this here or the BYU PG U thread.

Perfect form on that jump shot. Not much elevation, though. Is he quick? He looks soft.
