this really bugged me tooOriginally posted by SteelBlue View PostI thought it was odd that the announcers never put it together that BYU played great D from the opening whistle. They kept talking about ISU D and no BYU score for 6 minutes which yeah, was crazy but ISU only had 5 points in the same time frame. They were just repeatedly amazed BYU had "come back", when the largest deficit was, what, 9?Dyslexics are teople poo...

The press wasn't as much of a problem as managing the high pick and roll when Jefferson and Jackson were showing the double on the screen. Usually Demin is tall enough and/or athletic enough to make the defense pay when the opposing big doubles and shows on the high pick and roll. Jefferson and Jackson were athletic enough and big enough that he had no answer and as a result he made a bunch of bad decisions. Hall was equally bad. Most teams won't be able to do what ISU did in defending that action. KY did the right thing in stressing rebounding and running to minimize the issue for the middle half of the game.Originally posted by falafel View PostHope they work some more on how to beat the press though.

True, they had plenty of those "collisions at the ball" like ISU's coach said. I couldn't believe how physical the refs let the game be in the first 5 minutes.Originally posted by Flystripper View Post

KY and the team did a great job of sticking with the game plan, which is huge in a road game and atmosphere like that. This type of win is going to pay dividends in the tournament.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.
