When I consider great wins in BYU hoops history last nite has the potential to be one of the best. IMO, the greatest BYU regular season win was beating SDSU in San Diego Jimmer's senior year. Last night's win has similar potential because that win is likely to continue to improve BYU's seeding in the NCAA Tournament which significantly increases the probability of post season success and memorable wins which were made possible by last night. What a great year BYU is having. I don't know yet know where this team sits in the decent pantheon of BYU basketball greats but this run to end this year has been more memorable and impressive than any I remember. Part of that is the opportunity afforded by being a member of the Big 12 and getting to play great teams so frequently, but holy crap BYU has played exceptional basketball for 3 weeks straight game in and game out against top tier competition. Beating Arizona and ISU on the road-are you freaking kidding me?
I think BYU has played itself into at least a 6 seed for the NCAA tourney-and I think each win in the Big 12 Tourney will improve seeding by 1. I keep telling myself this is KY's first year-and certainly the first half of the year provided evidence he had a learning curve and that is possible with the postseason-but color me amongst the believers and deeply impressed how he built this squad and how he puts the pieces together. So far he is looking like the perfect hire at the perfect time-but age and wisdom have taught me things are rarely as good or as bad as they appear at the moment. So I am trying to stay grounded about the future. So much to still enjoy this year I desperately hope, but before that opportunity presents itself BYU gets the chance to beat Utah fairly badly on Saturday. Watching my beloved Bulldogs pound Grapevine's beloved Devils and then BYU thumping Utah would be a wonderful Saturday!Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

We've come back for Saturday's game (oh, and our youngest's wedding Friday, a sidelight). I haven't divulged to the missus my $250/ticket purchase for the game but if she finds out and craps on my purchase I will remind her of the many Broadway musical tix I've bought for her. I expect Saturday evening to be of greater value.

I thought it was odd that the announcers never put it together that BYU played great D from the opening whistle. They kept talking about ISU D and no BYU score for 6 minutes which yeah, was crazy but ISU only had 5 points in the same time frame. They were just repeatedly amazed BYU had "come back", when the largest deficit was, what, 9?

He couldn't believe either one.
The opportunity to play and win these type of games (and at Arizona, against Kansas, etc.) is that the team will not be phased by anything in the tourney. They can still crap the bed, but they won't be intimidated. Hope they work some more on how to beat the press though.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different.
