The first NET rankings are out and BYU is #48. That also puts us at #9 in the Big 12...right where the preseason rankings had us...Kenpom still has us at #34.

Lots to go this year. I have no clue what the NBA will think of him this year, but if he chooses to return for another season at BYU then BYU next year might be a legitimate top tier team.

Unlike KenPom which is a projected ranking for the end of the season, the NET changes quickly based on results. I think a road win at Providence pushes BYU into the 30s.

So. We've missed 10 layups and Providence doesn't miss at all. LOL. This is painful

again, cut it to a manageable deficit and then providence goes on a fast run to put it back to 15. Goodness this is hard to watch

Of course career shooting night from three for everyone on the friars but our offense is disjointed and can’t handle the physicality. We will get better from this. They need to learn how to handle it. Everyone is going to try and do it now so they better adapt.

Baker had a decent game, but very ugly overall for BYU. Still not a cohesive team.

The 5 stars don’t look ready for the physicality. I liked Mag’s defensive effort when he played and I’d like to see more of him when it matters. I’m starting to understand why Baker gets the minutes he does. He’s mentally tough and unafraid to step up when things are not going well.

Providence pretty much doubled BYU's shooting percentage in this game. So even though BYU had half the turnovers of Providence (4 vs 8) and out-rebounded them, they got blown off the court.

They have to learn to attack the aggressive defense to get good shots - and then make their mother-f-ing shots. Also, when you get an opportunity at the line, don't miss the front end of a 1-and-1!

Not sure what else they could have done defensively. Friars just made tough shots look routine repeatedly.

Yeah as strange as it sounds the D wasn’t the issue. Could it be better? Sure but sometimes hot shooting happens. I am more frustrated that we were bullied by their D. The need to get comfortable with the physical play. Expect this on repeat from the top half of the big 12 until we can handle it.
