I agree that SCOTUS decisions are generally sound, and I have a lot more confidence in them than I do anyone else in the executive or legislative branches. The odds are definitely against them overturning an election, but a couple of years ago the odds were against America being in its current state. That the election results will ultimately land in the lap of the Supreme Court is a foregone conclusion. When Lindsay Graham was asked whether he will accept the results of the election, his response was that he'll accept whatever decision is reached by the court. The current GOP playbook is to delegitimize the election and hope for the courts to decide the next President. In a sane world that should be troubling, but I'm afraid that sane left the station a long time ago."The mind is not a boomerang. If you throw it too far it will not come back." ~ Tom McGuane

Add in the fact that scotus appointments are for life so there literally is no pressure for them to back Trump in a decision. Yay constitution!!Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostNot a chance. You can argue about the nuances of SCOTUS decisions, but they generally make good sound decisions. No way are they going to overturn an election without good, hard evidence. These people care about their legacy and you don't get to this point in a legal career by being an unhinged lunatic.

I hope you're right. It will be interesting to see whether Barrett recuses herself when this lands in the Court. I don't think she would, but I'm sure she'll be asked that in her confirmation hearings. I would love to hear Trump's reaction if she said she would recuse herself.Originally posted by Moliere View PostAdd in the fact that scotus appointments are for life so there literally is no pressure for them to back Trump in a decision. Ha. Stop paying attention to Lindsey Graham. I agree, although it's interesting to note that a vote in favor of a Trump victory could be be the work of five justices picked by Presidents who lost the popular vote.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostNot a chance. You ever hear of almonds, olive oil, artichokes, and wine? As long as we have California, we’ll live like kings!Originally posted by Pelado View PostYou're going to starve all the farmers?

Those products do sound familiar, but don't most of those get produced in the red part of California?Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostYou ever hear of almonds, olive oil, artichokes, and wine?
