  • Pelosi doubles down... She really doesn't want Biden to debate Drumpf.

Pelosi doubles down that Biden shouldn't debate Trump: 'Why bother?'

It seems even the Dems think Joe is going bomb the debate.

      • The RealClearPolitics national average right now is Biden +6.7. Looking at the national popular vote can be pretty misleading, though, since that's not how the winner is determined.

RCP also has electoral college maps that can be prefilled with their current polling reports. In looking at the "No Toss Ups" option, they're currently projecting a Biden win with 353 electoral votes to just 185 for Trump. Here's the individual state races (# electoral votes) that would have to flip in order for Trump to win - listed in order of current margin:

        North Carolina (15) - currently Biden +0.8
        Florida (29) - currently Biden +1.6
        Ohio (18) - currently Biden +2.4
        Pennsylvania (20) - currently Biden +4.0
        Arizona (11) - currently Biden +5.0

or the dnc just realizes it's a no-win when 50% of the audience that hears trump speak determines that his rambling incoherence is ever even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought.

Your post leads me to think you believe Iowa is a reliably Republican state? I suppose this is true if you go all the way back to Abraham Lincoln. But Iowa has been very much a toss-up in my lifetime. Here is the political party that Iowa voted for for president in each election going back all the way to Honest Abe:

                2016 R
                2012 D
                2008 D
                2004 R
                2000 D
                1996 D
                1992 D
                1988 D
                1984 R
                1980 R
                1976 R
                1972 R
                1968 R
                1964 D
                1960 R
                1956 R
                1952 R
                1948 R
                1944 R
                1940 R
                1936 D
                1932 D
                1928 R
                1924 R
                1920 R
                1916 R
                1912 D
                1908 R
                1904 R
                1900 R
                1896 R
                1892 R
                1888 R
                1884 R
                1880 R
                1876 R
                1872 R
                1868 R
                1864 R

NOTE: Many of the Rs in the 1800s were originally Whigs that became Republicans with the advent of the Republican Party.

If we go all the way back 100 years to include pretty much everyone alive today, Iowa voted Dem in 9 out of the 25 elections.
If we're looking at my lifetime, there have been 12 presidential elections and Iowa has voted democratic in 6 of them. It's as color-shifting a state as you can get in my lifetime.

Heck, Iowa voted for Woodrow Wilson, FDR, and (LOL!) Dukakis. Clinton cleaned up in Iowa. So did Obama. So I conclude that Iowa being tied with a candidate as miserable as Trump, well, it isn't exactly a shocker.

LOL, which candidate are you talking about?

But what it actually sounds like is that you are hoping for riots, chaos and possibly an assassination even if Trump is legitimately re-elected. So to ensure that, you are sewing the seeds of insurrection now.

If Trump’s election is confirmed in the same manner in which other elections have been confirmed, and you think that provides a basis for a civil war, I think you’re the idiot. No offense to you personally, of course.

All the left has to do is motivate its base and not allow him to be re-elected. If that happens, Trump is leaving peacefully. Not without lawsuits. Not without allegations of fraud and corruption. But voluntarily, nonetheless.

If Trump is legitimately elected, I have no problem accepting the stupidity of the American electorate and waiting out another 4 more years of dysfunction. I'm talking about a scenario in which Trump loses the election and wrangles back power from a supreme court where 1/3 of its members were appointed by Trump. And no, I'm not hoping for riots or insurrection, I'm just stating what would happen if such a scenario were to occur. As for Trump being assassinated, I would never publicly hope for that.

Not a chance. You can argue about the nuances of SCOTUS decisions, but they generally make good sound decisions. No way are they going to overturn an election without good, hard evidence. These people care about their legacy and you don't get to this point in a legal career by being an unhinged lunatic.

Oh come one, no one believes it just shows up in grocery stores like magic. It's obviously brought into the harbors on the coasts and then shipped by train and truck into the flyover states. If it just appeared in grocery stores then it would be justified to just walk in and grab what you need.

Exactly... if it goes to the SCOTUS Drumpf will win. There is just too much evidence that the Dems like to cheat.
