The most informative recent YouTube video on Covid that I'm aware of is this one by Nick Christakis from Yale. The most important point I got from it is that we'll move into the next stage of "clean up" after everybody in the country has either had Covid or is vaccinated. Then things can get back to normal about two years after that. 2024 or so.
Is it evil to think that the anti-vax people should hurry up and get it so that we can move on?

The only problem with the “let’s get everyone Covid” mentality is that people having Covid allows the virus to mutate and evade vaccines and immune systems. So we need a many people as possible to get vaccinated. So we can’t really claim that getting Covid is as good as getting the shot even if it offers some decent short term immunity.Comment

This Covid wave is starting to be off the charts crazy in terms of cases. Thankfully the hospitalizations and deaths are bucking the trend and staying flat. But it seems that a ton of people are testing positive, including a ton of vaccinated people. I'm not sure how long it takes them to update the website, but the Laboratory Testing page on Idaho's coronavirus website says that only 2 omicron variants have been detected/identified in Idaho so far.
