Wow, they've reported that the first Omicron covid death in Texas was from someone who was unvaccinated but had previously had another variant of covid.

seems like the easy answer is that most are using the home tests, which likely aren’t reported or it’s very mild so most people aren’t even getting tested.

The most informative recent YouTube video on Covid that I'm aware of is this one by Nick Christakis from Yale. The most important point I got from it is that we'll move into the next stage of "clean up" after everybody in the country has either had Covid or is vaccinated. Then things can get back to normal about two years after that. 2024 or so.

Is it evil to think that the anti-vax people should hurry up and get it so that we can move on?

The evil part is those who are putting out misinformation about the vaccine for political or monetary gain.

The only problem with the “let’s get everyone Covid” mentality is that people having Covid allows the virus to mutate and evade vaccines and immune systems. So we need a many people as possible to get vaccinated. So we can’t really claim that getting Covid is as good as getting the shot even if it offers some decent short term immunity.

what about those who don't believe in EVILution or slept through HS biology, much less ever attended college? How are you going to reach those saps with that argument? :-)

Furthermore, our political system basically weights their votes heavier than of those who live in cities and are typically more educated.

Sounds about right. Covid likely will never be gone but it’ll become like a cold or the flu. The sooner we get there the better.

Yes, ASAP. How about crop dusting Trump antiVax districts with Omicron to hasten a great culling on the way to herd immunity.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

This Covid wave is starting to be off the charts crazy in terms of cases. Thankfully the hospitalizations and deaths are bucking the trend and staying flat. But it seems that a ton of people are testing positive, including a ton of vaccinated people. Sports leagues are getting hit hard, aTm just pulled out of the Gator bowl because they couldn't field a team, the NHL is delaying games, celebrities are testing positive...

This version better not be as deadly as delta.

I'm not sure how long it takes them to update the website, but the Laboratory Testing page on Idaho's coronavirus website says that only 2 omicron variants have been detected/identified in Idaho so far.
