To be fair, he didn't say WHICH side would "unconditionally surrender", so this tweet was actually incredibly accurate.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View Post"There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

Don't forget that we totally obliterated their army, their navy, their defenses, and their nuclear program, which is why were able to make such an historic deal -- one that crooked, chain-smoking Obama could never have made!!!Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View Post

Yeah, but where is the selection of great and incredible leaders?? We're still stuck with Trump, buddy JD, and Warrior General/Fox News Morning Host Pete Hegseth.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

Count me as one of the 36% who wanted this regime. Trump screwed this over royally. They can polish this turd as much as they want but they blew the chance to remove an evil regime that killed 36K of its own people and is a funder of terrorism across the world.
Many paths to view this. A coalition would have been ideal, congressional support. But Trump is too arrogant and narcissistic to play the political game. And his end result is this farce of a MOU.
Some 39% of respondents favor a negotiated settlement where Iran’s current government remains in place, with verifiable limits on its nuclear and missile programs, according to the findings of the Reagan Institute Summer Survey, while 36% favor replacing Iran’s current government with one more favorable to the U.S.

Moreover, what the hell is someone to do about any of this shit? I vote every 4 years just like you, I assume. I never voted for Trump, and I never liked what MAGA ultimately stood for. As much as I dislike his persona and a lot of the things he does, I am determined, as an American, to give Trump, as our duly-elected President, some modicum of the benefit of the doubt. Why am I that stupid?: Well because I really, really, believe in the American SYSTEM. and the more we proceed to undermine it, regardless if it is a "worthy cause" such as opposing Trump, the more it destabilizes the very delicate fabric of the system I believe in, as we end up in a situation where civil-disobedience is conducted in an escalating fashion until we are at civil war with each other. This is my "why", LOL!
Also Re: "reeducation camps" -- have you ever called MAGA supporters a Cult? or Cult-like? Do you think they need, as Hilary termed it: "deprogramming?" Should we actively limit free speech based on what one side of the political aisle thinks is dangerous? I don't know if you have noticed it or not, but the rhetoric is getting sharper and more polarizing, and as much as I believe Trump is a part of that, I think the bigger part pre-existed Trump and he simply "carpetbagged" on the opportunity. We have been polarizing in the nation for some time, I think we are just reaching a point where the rug is no longer big enough to sweep it underneath.
Finally: so help me, if I go and start "taking things here seriously here" to get your endorsement, only so YOU then turn around and joke about something without MY permission, IM GONNA BE PISSED.

Significant hiccups like this will happen enough during the next 60 days that will delay any final 'deal'. Why would Iran concede anything when it can rightly claim the MOU protects Lebanon?Originally posted by LVAllen View PostWhelp, that didn't last long. Iran is suspending its participation in further talks, citing Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

How was regime change going to realistically happen? What realistic chance got blown to remove a theocratic government that controlled 90 million people?Originally posted by dabrockster View PostCount me as one of the 36% who wanted this regime. We needed to commit boots on the ground for that to happen. I doubt Congress or The People would be on board with that. For that matter, I don't think that is anything that was ever on the table for Trump.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View Post
