  • What an absolute failure this whole war has been. Iran is going to be stronger because of it. They have little to lose and can just wait us out. If they control the strait of Hormuz because of this war, that makes this an even bigger failure. Maybe e should elect presidents that have some conniption of how geopolitics work. Macron is probably laughing his head off at Trump in between sobbing due to the lasting impact this whole thing will have for decades to come.

    • The children have taken daddy's sportscar for a joyride and have totaled it. Too bad dad let his insurance lapse and what dad can afford is is a broken down pinto that explodes at the slightest fender bender. At least it gets good gas mileage, amiright?

Uh oh. The money guy for the oil guys is sounding the alarm. We should take note.

Ha, too true. The oil companies are winning in this no matter what. Oil prices will stay high for a while as the physical market needs to stabilize but even then a lot of companies may look to drill elsewhere to avoid the strait of Hormuz…which all means oil prices stay high.

Im just speaking from a standpoint of sanity. It’s clear that we blew up a lot of stuff in Iran but that doesn’t seem to be getting us what we wanted…which I still have no idea what we want out of this war. I’m going to make quite a bit of money out of this whole thing but I’d rather just make some normal money and have the world order be normal.

                    • So we really sent Vance, Witkoff, and Kushner to negotiate with Iran, and they can't even get things back to status quo. A full day of negotiations and no progress.

I know it's been said a million times, but it bears repeating. The Trump administration is an absolute $h!t show.

I mean, who do you think we would send to show the Seriousness? The Secretary of State? He's too busy getting blitzed at a UFC event tonight.

Experienced diplomats? Nah, why would we do that? And even if we wanted to, who's left?

                          • Closure? Ha! Time for Double Secret Closure!

Effective immediately, the United States Navy, the Finest in the World, will begin the process of BLOCKADING any and all Ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz,” Trump said in a post to his social media platform Truth Social. “The Blockade will begin shortly. Other Countries will be involved with this Blockade. Iran will not be allowed to profit off this Illegal Act of EXTORTION.”
Blockading Chinese and Russian ships from transiting the Strait? What could go wrong?

Both sides have quite a few cards which is why Iran didn't cave. The US has more cards, but I think we will have to ante up and escalate with ground troops to force Iran to submit to our terms. Trump doesn't hold all the cards. Congress would need to be onboard as well. And the US would have a much stronger hand by building a coalition with allies.
