The Republicans do have a portion of their fanbase that I would say is racist. For sure. The Democrats have the same thing in their fanbase though. They have a white racism problem, and a self-loathing problem from part of their electorate base.

Will be interesting to see what happens. It is crazy to me to see the amount of US citizens that I see online that are rooting for the demise of our Nation. That is not a winning way in the next Presidential election. I feel like as a country we do need to look at America first. I don't think that is a bad thing. Much like flying on an airplane...if the plane depressurizes, you take care of yourself first and then your neighbor.
This is the part where I completely agree with you there are no good political parties in the US. No, not one.

However, it would behoove all voters to look at what has happened in the last year with clear eyes. There is one party that has supported and defended numerous attacks on the constitution, probably more so than any peace-time president in our history. So much so that the future of the government ideal that we were taught was American exceptionalism is seriously in doubt. The constitutional attacks are bad enough. But this party refuses to condemn its leader for demagoguing half of the electorate, the press, and every political leader that does not have a (R) behind their name. If our form of government survives unscathed, it will be a miracle. But I fear the virulent attacking of fellow citizens is a rubicon.

We can debate all day how bad the other political party is. But there is one that is much worse in a very practical way that threatens to dismantle most of what we thought makes the country good, or at least less bad. Step one of the needed political cleansing is holding noses and voting for someone who will not continue on this destructive path.

              • It's all good, though. This isn't unexpected, and it's what Shaka voted for.

                • We shouldn't forget that according to the president and his political party, this upcoming destruction of civilization is just a military operation that doesn't need congressional approval.

                  • I don’t have a truth account so I’ll quote MTG on Twitter. This is unhinged and frankly, evil.

edit: sorry for repost. I thought I looked back a bit but oops.

                    • With the market way down this morning due to the pending erasure of an entire civilization, I'm guessing Trump's cronies are loading up on short-term call options in anticipation of Taco Tuesday and the announcement of a soon-to-be-reached great deal with the "new" regime.

I didn't specifically vote for military action against Iran. However, I feel like it's something that should have happened long ago. If it needed to happen now, then I'm good with it.

I do find it interesting that some of you take Trump's hyperbole so literally.

Not even Tucker Carlson is on board with this. He is telling the people around Trump to tell him no or to resign. Trump responds by calling Tucker a Low IQ Person (that's how Trump would write it), which just boils down to "he's dumb!"

With this? Are referring to military action against Iran or the destruction of their civilization?

If it's hyperbole, why do you find a president threatening to destroy a country that we're not offically at war with defensible?
