Which leaves us with the intelligence community which is looking at satellite imagery, monitoring Iranian communications, checking radiation sensors in the region, and getting the latest human intelligence and coupling that with their own expertise to provide after-action damage assessments. They report what they see and hear. More assessments will come and we'll get a better picture of what happened and where the Iranian program stands.
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I wonder if you "fire for effect" with these bombs if you're able to eventually complete your objective. We should probably go back in and finish the job, if possible.

People have an unrealistic expectation for bombing campaigns. You will never stop the Iranians from developing nukes using bombs.

Agreed. That's why the caveat "if possible". And even if you sent ground troops in to finish off destroying their program, that's only a temporary set back, even if a much longer set back.

This. We must accept that the Middle East matters to our way of life. Boots on the ground is the only way to ensure the accomplishment of most tactical goals. Clearly, we do not want to do that in Iran so whack-a-mole from the air is likely the future. I think the collective IDF and US actions against Iran set back their Nuclear ambitions back for quite some time. Iran can make a rush for a nuclear bomb but without serious commitment to rebuilding their air defense resources-whatever resources the dump into nuclear ambitions can be bombed over and over. Hence, rationally they have no choice but to spend time and resources rebuilding their air defense resources and that alone will set back nuclear ambitions for some time. But the reality is this may likely be repeated again in our lifetime. Politicians can promise to end the conflict between ME regimes and the US but it ain't going to happen. We will hit them again with MOABs....

Trump's style doesn't help at times like this when things are actually serious and it requires adult conversations about what actually was accomplished by the bombing attacks and what might be needed to do be done again and when. Saying that while his style will keep the people guessing more than we ought to be-there are actual professionals who know and will plan for the next contingencies.

Today's write up on ISW is interesting.

                https://www.understandingwar.org/bac...e-june-27-2025

The Institute for Science and International Security assessed that the twelve 30,000lb GBU-57s—over 180 tons of bombs—detonated inside the facility after traveling through the Fordow ventilation shafts.
It's fascinating to me the precision of the strikes. No, this is not a fire for effect scenario. They were able to use existing ventilation shafts to deliver the payload. No doubt, those ventilation shafts are no more.

Uranium enrichment is logarithmic, meaning that ”the higher [the concentration of Uranium], the easier it gets” to enrich to higher levels.
Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was reportedly not informed of the Israel-Iran ceasefire agreement prior to the Supreme National Security Council’s (SNSC) decision to accept the agreement.

Shooting bombs through ventilation shafts to destroy a power’s ultimate weapon?

I bet Iran feels pretty stupid for banning movies now. Turns out it would have helped to watch Star Wars.

Interesting Op-Ed article by Mike Pompeo encouraging Trump to be in a position when Iran falls and increase sanctions etc. to accelerate the collapse.

Ex-Secretary of State Pompeo argues Iran's regime is crumbling under Trump policies, citing military defeats and economic collapse as evidence Islamic Republic faces imminent downfall.

It's been great to see Iran's rapid decline. This is something that has been brewing for a long time, and Israel should get a lot of credit.

But can democracy find a foothold in the Middle East? I am somewhat skeptical.

I recently read King of Kings. It was the story of the Iran revolution, talking about the Shah, Khomeini, and the US. The US really screwed that all up. I hope we can do better this time around.

If the U.S. can in fact not muck that up and support the people and their desire for democracy. I cannot imagine the turn of events this would have to all things terrorist-related in the ME, and across the globe.

I have read and seen photos of the times before the takeover, and it seems this would be the place that would truly be the beacon of light in comparison to Iraq.

I did find his article surprising in the way he spoke about Iran being the driving force of terrorist activities. The way he spoke of Hezbollah, Hamas, and other organizations and how they are collapsing. I was a bit surprised to see that written and the information that Iran is on the verge of collapsing due to all the sanctions and the decimation of their nuclear facilities (Trump got that right!).

I haven't followed this at all, but I'm guessing Russia needing to focus on Ukraine and being unable to support Iran and other interests in the Middle East is a bigger factor than US sanctions. Isn't that why the Assad regime in Syria finally collapsed after over a decade of civil war?

US sanctions don't really do anything if Russia is able to prop them up.

I see truth in this too. Plus. The U.S. isn’t dolling out billions of dollars to a terrorist regime to then have it be used against us and our allies.

we've rolled over and surrendered to all of Russia's demands on Ukraine's. It embarrassing. Trump essentially relayed all of Putin's demands to Ukraine. Now we are actively trying to tear apart the EU. We will off no meaning resistance to Russia on anything
