Jack Posebiec is one that sticks out like a sore thumb. He was one of the organizers of the Unite the Right rally.

Trump had dinner with Nick Fuentes ffs.

Trolling is a part of it, but there is a concerning presence of genuine racists in the GOP. That has accompanied the rise of MAGA. Trolling also serves as convenient cover to say offensive shit.

Anti-semetic, racist 4chan trolls are still bigots, even if they are doing it for the lolz.
You are not wrong. Shit posters in general typically have terrible abhorrent views in someway. Tankies talk about barbecuing landlords and murdering the business class. But they aren't a part of the young democrats.

Oh god, tankies are hateful and horribly idiotic people.

      • I believe MAGA has quit tracking right-wing violence in many regards which is mightily convenient but it is still very much a problem.

On August 12, 2024, a teenager only identified as ‘Arda K’ waded into the dining area of an open-air cafe in Eskisehir, Turkey and stabbed five people, a chest-mounted camera streaming the attack live on Kick. The victims—one of whom nearly died after having his throat slit with a camping knife—had all spent time earlier in the day praying at a nearby mosque. As well as the two knives and small axe Arda K was carrying, he was also wearing a vest bearing the Schwarze Sonne (Black Sun) symbol associated with neo-Nazism.

A few weeks ago, on September 25, Arda—whose full surname, Küçükyetim, has subsequently come out in the press—was sentenced to 75 years and five months in prison for the attacks. A couple of months before that, another man named Skyler Philippi pleaded guilty to attempting to use a “weapon of mass destruction”—a drone containing explosives—to destroy an energy facility in Nashville, Tennessee. Despite the vast distance between them, both young men had been radicalized by the same global network. Known as Terrorgram, it has been linked since its inception in 2021 to at least five terror attacks and a spate of other crimes worldwide.

        • Do we have a thread dedicated to terrorism on the rise by other ethnicities? I can't find it...

Good lord man. I'm not sure why this triggers such a response. Gotta bothsides it.

I think you bring up a valid point. I also think the idea this group falls under one political party has been the aim of activist groups who look to use this as a path to vilify for political purposes.

The data and skewed numbers lend to show violence coming from conservatives who are placed under White Supremacy in their political group due to some shared opinions. Even when it may be a single action from one person. Yet, organizations like Antifa, BLM, Free-Palestine movements, anti-semetic movements or what I would describe as actions from a single individual are not labeled or placed in the DEM political party category.

While I would avoid the ethnicity point, I would argue more on what is reported and what is not reported and which categories are labeled. We cannot ignore the actions of single people who should be labeled or lumped with a political affiliation. This needs to be consistent across the data points. For example. Charlie Kirk’s murderer, Ant-ICE killers, Anti-Police killers. Killing of CEO’s.

I came across this publication and plan to fully read it but thought I would share. Yes, it is an ultra-conservative publication so I understand and likely will see statements as such. But I hope people read it and discuss.

              • Ya'll are free to start a thread about violence by whatever xenophobic group you want. You realize that, right? If there's something that needs to be discussed, bring it to the table and let's discuss it.

What if we need to discuss the Fast and Furious franchise, can I bring that to the table to discuss. It is very important.

Yes, great example. You had thoughts on something that is pretty much not worth discussing and decided to start a thread so you could share your thoughts. Sure, it's basically an echo chamber in there, but its YOUR echo chamber and nobody can take that away from you. Because of you, there's a thread for that!

Just like you started a thread and (mostly unsuccesfully) attempted to have people discuss FF there, Tick and dabrockster can follow suit and start a thread on black supremacy or radical islamic terrorism in America and then see if they can't lure some people over there. This is how message boards work.

Yes, but how do I force people to watch this amazing movie franchise and actually discuss these important issues!

I don't want to start a group that segregates hate and violence. I want one group that discusses all of it. I'm not into polarization.

                        And the FAF movies suck.

I think DH's point remains. If one wants to start such a thread, they are free to do so.

I have never seen a FAF movie, but I guess someone could start a thread that is just "Movies."

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Having threads about specific social concerns, that I feel go underaddressed is not segregating.

For one, it's a helpful way to order conversations.

If someone wants to discuss concerns with Mormons, and someone has other specific concerns with Islamic extremism, it doesn't need to be kept in one thread about religiosity.

                            Thats a bit gatekeepy dude.

I don't know that you'd have the same response if this was a thread about leftist extremism

Yeah, but if anyone starts a thread entitled "Violence by non-white people is on the rise" or something like that, I will delete it. The last thing we need is for this forum to be flagged as a hate site by web bots. Be judicious, por favor.
