Yeah, that's right. It's all about guns, not about mental illness, or society that is violence prone. None of that ever has anything to do with this. For a smart guy, you sure only know how to sing one note loudly."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."
Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

What I'm saying is that the variable known as semiautomatic weapons and other variety of big gun should be controlled more easily.Originally posted by Topper View PostYeah, that's right. There 357 Million guns in the States. You really believe those are going away any time soon?Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostUnfortunately, if you really want to do something about it, the needle will have to move against decent people like you. It is as much of a cultural impasse as it is a political one. Guns have to decrease, and regulations getting one have to become stricter. It will take at least a generation of stringent gun control laws before we see improvement, IMO.

This story may end up being a situation like John Birges and Harvey's in South Lake. It's looking like it may line up that way, sans any ransom attempt.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvey..._Hotel_bombingThe Harvey's Resort Hotel bombing took place on August 26–27, 1980, when three men planted an elaborately booby trapped bomb containing 1,000 pounds (450*kg) of dynamite at Harvey's Resort Hotel (now "Harveys") in Stateline, Nevada, United States. The mastermind behind the bomb, former millionaire John Birges, was attempting to extort $3 million ($8.7 million today) from the casino, claiming he had lost $750,000 ($2.2 million today) gambling there.

Maybe not surprising. He probably traveled all over building his arsenal:

That's going to happen.Originally posted by frank ryan View PostHe said it would take a generation of stringent enforcement.
Instead, you authoritarians who want the government to dictate every step of your life, should probably just wait it out. The percentage who enjoy hunting, shooting and responsible activities will probably decline with this do nothing Millennial generation to a point where they may hand them over."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Count me as a subscriber!Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostI keep watching the first minute and one half and I still have no idea how to put one of those guns together.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

At least a generation is an understatement. There are so many guns out there now - I'm not sure how long it would take to rein all of that in. And, in the meantime, the political climate would erupt as I have NO doubt that the law abiding folks would turn in their guns much more quickly than the criminals - with the potential for some pretty good violent crime jumps if there is any validity at all to the concept of citizen gun owner self-defense being a deterrent to would be criminals.
