While what Trump did was unquestionably inappropriate from the the perspective of any neutral observer, I'd allow that reasonable minds may differ on the question of whether he should be removed from office. But a recent essay from David French (a conservative writer for The National Review with no love for the Dems) has me leaning toward removal (censure is the minimum penalty that should be imposed). One passage:
Did French really misspell Costa Rica? Yikers.

But not to deflect from the original point: what are we to do when a President asks a foreign power to provide assistance that will benefit that President in a U.S. election? The investigation showed it went much deeper that we'd thought, even in the face of obstruction by the White House. The President offered items of value for an announcement about an investigation (which announcement would benefit him politically). I don't know how the House can't take action. Let Senate Repubs do what they will do, but something needs to be done.

Cue some UT links to articles from marginal "press" outlets about Hunter Biden's illegitimate children.
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Hunter "The Crackhead" Biden is Drumpf's policial rival? I didn't know Hunter was running for president. Yes, his dad is but Joe keeps saying that he didn't know what his son was doing as a board member of the corrupt Ukrainian energy company. In fact, Joe says he didn't even know that his crackhead son was on the board of that company. Hunter and Joe are two different people. Joe made that clear. So where do you get that Drumpf was asking favors of foreign leaders to go after his political rival? Did the crackhead/whore chaser announce he is now running for president? Boy, the Dems are digging deep for candidates if that is the case.

As for Obama, since you brought him up, he is connected to this FISA warrant thing based on a text from Lisa Page saying, "POTUS wants to know everything we’re doing.” When is that IG report coming out again? Monday? So apparently Obama was using the FBI to spy on Hillary's political rival to help her out... and she still lost.

Stop trolling. If you sincerely think Trump's efforts on that call, as well as before and after (not to mention his bagman Rudy's efforts), were focused on Hunter and not Joe, it's pointless to discuss this with you.

I don't recall Drumpf saying anything about investigating Joe in the phone transcript. Are you saying that Joe is somehow connected to Hunter getting that board seat gig and stopping the corruption investigation into that same Ukraine company? OMG, is Joe connected to this corrupt company as well? That is terrible.

So when in the call Trump says "the Bidens," Joe is not included in that?

I would have to see the full context but I think he is referring to Hunter (aka, the crackhead) and his dead brother's wife that he was sleeping with and/or the stripper/hooker that he knocked up and her baby (the new little Biden). Joe made it very clear he wasn't connected to the corrupt Ukrainian energy company and had no knowledge of what Hunter was up to in Ukraine. Unlike the democrats I like to give folks the benefit of the doubt and believe what they say until there is evidence otherwise.

That's what I would assume too.

Ironic. I'm see conspiracy theories on both sides. I guess it depends what is your own pet theory.

Counselor, to be fair, I think you'd have to investigate whatever it was Hunter was doing on that board before you could get to Joe.

                            • Interesting podcast from the New York Times with some details about the Biden/Ukraine/Burisma connection that I hadn't heard before.

                              https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/27/p...a-ukraine.html

What Trump did was reprehensible. While I'm still not convinced that it rises to the level of an impeachable offense, it certainly should disqualify him from getting any rational person's vote in the next election. With that said, it sure looks like the Bidens' hands are not entirely clean either. As the podcast discusses, there are a lot of things that we don't really know about their conduct in Ukraine because no one has bothered to look into it. It sure smells bad to me though.

It's unfortunate that the only two plausible choices for President in 2020 are likely going to be Trump and Biden.

For starters, what was Hunter doing on that board? He was only there because he was Joe's son and they were paying him 50k a month.
