I would vote for Shapiro and I’ve never voted for a Dem for president before.

I do agree with AOC about one bit of public policy: a prohibition against members of congress (and ideally the executive branch and judiciary) trading stocks. The worst insider trading is going on and members of congress across the political spectrum are getting rich off the information they glean from their political offices.

Now a tariff on movies? Wants to reopen Alcatraz? He gets more insane by the minute.

If they're going to force these people to be backdrops for his increasingly unhinged press conferences, reporters should just ask them how they feel about what crazy thing Trump just said:

"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."
"You are an intemperate, unscientific poster who makes light of very serious matters.”

Alcatraz brings in $60 million/year in tourism. It hold less than 400 people. Can’t imagine the numbers make any kind of sense.

Just imagine how much people would pay to see real live inmates!

It may be Trump's dumbest idea thus far, although that's a highly competitive field. The reason the prison was shut down sixty years ago was the astronomical cost that would have been incurred bringing it up to 1960 code levels. Those costs Inor the code requirements) haven't eased in the past 60 years. Add to that the increased costs of transporting potable water, food, and power, not to mention employment expenses for Bay Area employees, and we'd be better off housing and feeding prisoners at the Four Seasons.

How about we split the difference and just tariff movies about prison escapes? Just spit-ballin'.

Trump SPECIFICALLY said that no one has ever escaped from Alcatraz. So.... that movie was false.

David Burge weighs in on Trump's latest brain fart.

PAC, we're just trying way too hard on this one. It's just a dumb stupid idiotic idea. It's obvious. Like annexing Greenland. No need to discuss. Everyone knows it's just plain stupid.
                              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
