Tesla has 3 cars in the top ten and the list is all cars, not just foreign owned companies.
Is there someplace where they note the percentage of "U.S.-made?" And then there is this in the article:

Though Teslas no longer hold a vice grip at the top of the order thanks in part to changes in this year’s workforce calculations, it’s worth noting the Model X has the same overall U.S. and Canadian parts content as it did for 2023, and the Model S has 5% more; only the Model 3 saw a drop in overall parts content percentage. Even so, the Model 3 features a variant with 75% U.S. and Canadian parts content — a requirement of the original AMI only one other vehicle managed for 2024.
How much is U.S. and how much is Canadian? I assume they need to apply tariffs for the Canadian percentage.
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

    • Trump today said the market trends are "extremely good." Do I buy?

My "if" was an actual if, not a synonym for "even though". Elon's behavior over the last year makes me suspicious that there is self-interest at play, but I have no idea.

In Elon's defense, he was posting quotes and videos of Milton Friedman and Thomas Sowell last year before entering the government.

          • Bad day for Trump. Insists that Xi call him, which won't happen. And the SCOTUS ruled unanimously against him.

Yeah, when you lose Alito and Thomas . . . .

I've heard some commentary on this ruling that was pretty chilling. The adminstration's lawyers essentially argued here that it has the right to remove anyone without due process. Nothing in what they said that would exempt even citizens. The Court rejected the idea 9-0 as it should. It would have been pretty alarming had it been any other count. But will Trump care?

I haven't heard a nuanced take from the Trump crowd, as to why this isn't terribly alarming?

The response that they couldn't do anything to have returned because he in El Salvador was disgusting.

Trump has won because of outrage, justified or misplaced, that is what got into power. All one needs to do is compare his rhetoric to his predecessors. MAGA in so far incapable being ashamed of Trump's behavior. He is adored as if he was chosen by God and drapes himself in cringy Jon McNaughton type Christianity. He is the ultimate victim. Everything is unfair, any critic is the enemy "deep-state" or too woke.

Until his loses or risks losing his base because of his shenanigans, we are stuck. There isn't enough motivation for him to change because he gets his ego fed and has continued access to power.

But fuck all if I am going to feel about calling him a dictator or fascist. The right being gatekeepy about mean words is ironic considering who they have become.

Those words are also increasingly accurate.

                • Ha! Thanks for the recs DH and PAC. So far we have thankfully only had the need to have him on a moderare dose of Guanfacine. But I'll suggest Hydroxycholorquine, Remdesivir, and Luprron to my wife and see what she thinks. Maybe me saying it has the RFKJ stamp of approval will sway her!

Well, if that doesn't work, you can fall back on ivermectin.

When my son who is on the spectrum was 7 or 8 we had my favorite episode of literalism. He was complaining about having to pee and starting to make quite the fuss as he was wont to do at that point in his life. We were not in a position to to pull over, being stuck in traffic or the like, and I told him to tie a knot in it. Next thing you know he is reaching down his pants trying to do just that. Good thing his sister was only 3.

                        Haha this is awesome.

For ahout 2 years between 5 and 7, whenever we would ask rhetorical questions or just say something to my son like "hey how tall do you think that building is?" His immediate and screaming angry response would be "how am I supposed to know that?!??!"

He was right but it took everything in me to not burst out laughing every time. Its a phrase we still use jokingly in our family and my son sometimes does as well now that he has moved past that stage.

                          • It's starting

The Trump administration has ordered State Department employees to report on any instances of coworkers displaying “anti-Christian bias” as part of its effort to implement a sweeping new executive order on supporting employees of Christian faith working in the federal government.

Building in a 10% margin of error and making conservative assumptions, I estimate approximately never.
