Yeah I'm saying there are a lot of his mannerisms, abruptness, and lack of social awareness that could be attributed to his autism. I could see my son interacting with people in some ways that Elon does. But autistic people don't automatically lack kindness as a result of their condition. On the contrary most are very kind as to their own understanding of the world and they can learn how kindness/politeness is demonstrated and interpreted in neurotypical circles to better interact. But Elon either hasn't learned that or is just not a nice person in general. So I was trying to say I don't think his autism is an excuse for his total lack of empathy. It does explain the way he superficially interacts with people and I think calling him a weirdo just when viewing those superficial reactions is extremely insulting and degrading to people with autism.

This is becoming a full-blown crisis of trust in scientific knowledge.
The persistence of the fraudulent link between vaccines and autism is more than just scientifically dangerous. It is cruel to parents who are often grasping for an understanding on why their child is retreating into themselves and changing before their eyes with no recourse to slow or reverse the changes. It misdirects them from what should be an acceptance of the condition and a life spent removing obstacles and building up their child into a world of anger focused on seeking blame for the condition.

I don't know. Catturd tells me they are actually brilliant. He's usually very consistent and right on the facts. Now I don't know who to believe.

          • I'm skeptical because Trump has been obsessed with tarrifs forever, but If true, I hope this leads to a more careful agenda.

President Donald Trump this week upended not just his tariff strategy but his trade team

Former hedge fund manager and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent — the White House’s main conduit to beleaguered financial markets — is now at the helm, with populist Peter Navarro relegated to the sidelines and Wall Street punching bag Howard Lutnick recast into the role of “bad cop,” according to three people close to the White House, granted anonymity to speak frankly about internal dynamics.

              That's awesome.

It's kind of funny that two guys with zero scientific training (Trump and RFKJr) can speak with such certaintty about the apparently huge spike in autism (the ridiculous 1 in 10000 to 1 in 31 claim) and the wonderful news that despite decades of genuine research by real scientists, the cause of autism will now be determined within the next six months by these idiots. (RFKJr, and the Geiers). And Omaha, I apolotize for making light of your very challenging situtation but I assume you haven't tried the Geier's suggested treatment of a $5,000/month Luprron regimen (hey, it helped me with prostate cancer so it could work with autism!).

                • Has anyone tried Hydroxycholorquine and Remdesivir to treat autism? Might work.

I have also always thought AOC is kind of cute.
I genuinely am curious how Elons opposition is out of self interest. His car company makes the most American cars in the USA and would likely be much less impacted by the tariffs. It seems he should be for tariffs if he was self interested.

I saw that claim, but only foreign makes were on the list. More than Ford and Dodge? Maybe I was seeing something different.

That's hopeful but I doubt it. Trump is still in charge and Navarro will still be in his ear. Bessent seems like he his has committed to being the loyal soldier. But more importantly, they have fully painted themselves into a corner by going nuclear on China. No number of new "treaties" with Vietnam and Cambodia and even Korea are going to counterbalance the disruption that the China tariffs and countertariffs are going to have moving forward. I honestly can't think of a way Trump can do his usual "we won by caving" routine and get out of this.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

                            • In some good news. Donald trumps personal business partner will sit down with Iran's foreign minister. I'm sure this personal friend is well prepared to deal with Iran.
