She is still in the National Guard I believe. She lied about vowing to never endorse Trump.

Hey Uncle Ted. Do you think maybe Wonder Woman could fly up in the sky and stop those planes from leaving chem trails?

Or maybe she could stop the Jews from engineering another Covid virus

      • I've always kind of liked Tulsi. Years ago I read a hit piece on her growing up in some kind of Hindu cult and it was pretty mean. Based on how Mormonism was framed for Romney I assume it was a dishonest characterization and it made me a bit defensive of her. She endorsed Bernie Sanders at the height of her political relevancy so I don't find a lot of common ground in her politics, but I like the independent approach. I think the slander about her being a Russian asset is pretty disgusting, emblematic of the thoughtless and toxic nature of our political discourse. Her 2+ decades of uniformed service to our country should buy more respect than that.

Yeah, I strongly, strongly disagree with you on this one. I don't she has slandered for cozying up with Assad, Putin and Modi and that was made even more clear when after she loses to primary she in way too long, she starts working for Fox and appearing on Russian State media all the time.

She launched a campaign that wasn't popular and stayed in when it was beyond clear she wouldn't win to drag it out. She seemed more critical of democrats than Trump during that process/

Her whole publicly leaving the left afterward also seemed very calculated. Now endorsing Trump, that's hardly a progressive position and one she swore never to make. Bernie Sanders isn't a fan of hers by any stretch

She has done her share of dishonest discourse as well.

Agree. She has an independent spirit that I've always liked. Plus that pick is kinda hot.

I appreciate your perspective. I could see how a Democrat would dislike her. I don’t know what cozying up to those bad guys really means or how she’s done that so I'll offer no defense there. But do you really think she's a Russian shill? She's an LTC in the Army Reserve with multiple commendations and combat deployments. Obviously her superiors don't think she's treasonous. I think that provides a perspective on national security worth listening to, even if I ultimately come to different conclusions.

I think this annoys me so much because it highlights how little both parties actually respect military service. Republicans have no problem insulting and misrepresenting the military careers of people like Tim Walz, Vindman, or Adam Kinzinger. Democrats are a bit too comfortable accusing Tulsi of being a Russian shill. I'm not saying that service members or veterans should be given some special exemption from criticism, but at a minimum their service should entitle their arguments to be addressed on the merits without insulting their patriotism or valor.

A lot of people don't like Mitt. Fine. A lot of people also don't take their vitamins, say their prayers or exercise. I still love them. mbn and I will persevere.

If she isn't a Russia shrill why does she spread bs claims about Ukraine ie Russia propaganda?

Trump to reportedly name Robert F Kennedy Jr and Tulsi Gabbard to transition team

                    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...latest-updates

Military service aside, this is insanity. An inability to recognize it as such is frightening.

Probably better than his previous crew of Bannon and Flynn, no? I put it about 75% that at least one of them will be fired/disowned via tweet before the election.

RFK aside, why is it insanity to name Gabbard to the transition team? I guess I don't follow her close enough. She was Vice-Chair of the DNC for four years under Obama and I don't remember anyone fretting about her.

She's a weather vane obsessed with power and relevancy. She has been an apologist for Putin and Assad, and she is now an apologist for Trump.

Yeah, "weather vane" is a perfect description. I am not sure she has any core principles. She seems to crave being in the spotlight so now she is hitching herself to the MAGA train.

That being said, I would take her over RFKJr. She is 100x better than that lunatic.

in what way would you describe someone who visits russia, takes russias side on ukraine and spreads russian propaganda about ukraine? blames the us for russia invading ukraine.

The first sentence is probably accurate of Tulsi, but also every other politician in the world. But now that I think about it I'm not sure. If she had kept herself in check she probably would have advanced pretty far in the DNC. She crossed Hillary in 2016 and that pretty much ended her career as a Democrat.

Where are you seeing her being a Putin apologist? I've seen something about her tweeting about biolabs, which I think was nonsense. She shouldn't have done that. I also don't think Romney should have said it was treasonous (he's still my hero). It's not treasonous to question the war in Ukraine. Or really any war for that matter. For years I didn't feel that way and I think I was wrong. The Bush 'you're with us or you're against us' led to some pretty disastrous outcomes. I'm growing to appreciate people who bring a different perspective, including you.
