The cynic in me sees this as a move to ensure Trump get sympathy and momentum with the base and is the candidate running in 2024. This was a winning strategy for Dems last in 2022 and it will probably be a winning strategy again. But it makes the country worse.

The January 6th stuff, classified documents, and voter fraud case in Georgia is even worse for him and much more likely to stick and derail him. Those indictments are coming soon. The special prosecutor is winning every ruling and getting damning grand jury testimony from everyone who was close to Trump. It's progressing a lot faster than almost anyone would have thought.Originally posted by USUC View PostThe cynic in me sees this as a move to ensure Trump get sympathy and momentum with the base and is the candidate running in 2024. Setting the precedent that insane presidents can do anything they want, even trying to illegally overturn an election, including through violence, and totally getting away with it legally, makes the country worse. Unfortunate that we've gotten here, but he crossed so many dangerous lines that we just can't have it and hope to always remain free. Enough is enough.Last edited by BlueK; 03-30-2023, 08:29 PM.

This will clinch the nomination for him. But no way in hell he wins the general."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

DeSantis is such a tool bag.
A little sprinkle of antisemitism and a wink at his contempt for the rule of law.
This is the next guy up?

Ted Cruz weighs in.
It was 2016, but he is a man of principle so I am sure he feels this way today.

Yeah, good point. His worshippers aren't going to give up their devotion. I'm Just saying what is coming for him from the other cases is even worse for him. I also don't think he can win a general election.Originally posted by Maximus View Post

But even with this NY case the indictment has not been unsealed yet. We'll see but I am guessing it will contain more than just charges related to Stormy Daniels or campaign finance. There could be lots of other tax evasion and fraud type stuff in there as well.Last edited by BlueK; 03-31-2023, 10:35 AM.

Supposedly there are 2,000 counts in the indictment.Originally posted by BlueK View Post
