Phew! Good thing that attempted murder didn't go through or you'd expect a little visit from your friendly neighborhood policeman!

I just donated to a GOP candidate for governor, so I suppose I'm less partisan. That's a first for me although, I've never voted straight party in my life, but I suspect you have.

Because attempting to commit some crimes is in itself a crime. But that doesn't hold true for all crimes.

            • General twitter consensus is that Mueller didn’t...do so well. I haven’t seen any video. Sounds like any serious thought of impeachment is gone now.
"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

Mueller just said establishing criminal conspiracy beyond a reasonable doubt is the standard he used for concluding what he did, but it is not the same thing as "no evidence"

I'm no lawyer, but I'm pretty sure attempted murder is actually a crime not an attempted crime. Is attempted obstruction a crime? (Sincere question)

It's against the law, yes. If you take actions with corrupt intent to thwart a law enforcement investigation, it is considered obstruction even if you fail to accomplish everything you're trying to do.

Attempted obstruction of justice is not a crime. There has to be an "endeavor".

                      https://www.justice.gov/jm/criminal-...stice-offenses

What is an endeavor? The statute says obstruction occurs where "an act" "corruptly or by threats or force, or by any threatening letter or communication, influences, obstructs, or impedes, or endeavors to influence, obstruct, or impede, the due administration of justice." Was there any bribe or threat here? Was justice influenced, obstructed, or impeded? Muller said he was able to complete his investigation without impediment.

                      https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/obstruction_of_justice

The other question is whether if there is no underlying crime--if the alleged obstructer knows he's innocent--he should be prosecuted for obstruction of justice. Here, apparently, Trump was not without reason for expressing contempt at this proceeding.

Apparently, the anti-intellectual left hasn't bothered even to research these issues; at least the CS left hasn't.

Attempted obstruction is not a crime. It's just not. I swear, the left is a religion. It is.

Maybe Drumpf committed the crime in his mind (and was thinking out loud about it)... like a "future crime". Couldn't they nail him for that? Just asking for Frank.

I’m not sure about the twitterverse. I tend to stay off of there. There weren’t any home runs. Mueller confirmed or reiterated some things. Trump ordered his attorney to lie. Mueller did not agree with Barr’s bullshit letter, and he the insinuation that was party to a botched legal coup or witch-hunt was an insult and offensive.

It’s also telling that the GOP keeps insisting the Steele report is discredited or completely made up. It’s held up well.

We can all follow his lead and stop saying Trump was exonerated or that there is zero evidence. To do otherwise is dishonest or ignorant.

Mueller was hamstrung by DOJ guidelines. I wish the Democrats would have moved beyond their strategy to highlight the obstructive acts in details.

Yeah, it doesn't look like Pence will be president now until 2024.

I was referring to the political fight for impeachment. Not providing a smoking gun is one thing. But he was apparently slow and halting in some of his answers. If the democrats were hoping his testimony would move the political 'will' needle towards impeachment, it doesn't sound like it did.
