Frank, no one says they will ignore a SCANDAL, but surely you admit bias or preference exist? Surely you don't contend that all coverages take place in a vacuum of personal interest?Originally posted by frank ryan View PostThe media has no interest in shielding any leader from scandal. They love that shit. For example, the NY Times broke the story about Clinton using her own server for government business. Yes, a lot of reporters are liberal, but a lot of publishers and media CEOs are conservatives.PLesa excuse the tpyos.

I think the media does a good job covering US politics, regardless of who has an R or D in front of their name.Originally posted by creekster View PostFrank, no one says they will ignore a SCANDAL, but surely you admit bias or preference exist? I don't.Originally posted by frank ryan View PostI think the media does a good job covering US politics, regardless of who has an R or D in front of their name.
Most journalists seem blissfully unaware of their own political bias and live in a bubble just many other voters, even though a proper journalist degree focuses significantly on bias and filtering for one's bias.
I find journalism does a better job of reporting matters that have little or no connection to politics. In fields excluding politics, journalists of good training seem to do a fair, middling and even good job."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."
Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

I'd agree with that but it doesn't answer the question posed by creekster.Originally posted by frank ryan View PostI think the media does a good job covering US politics, regardless of who has an R or D in front of their name.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

That bias exists? Duh, of course it does, but quality new outlets do a pretty good job of minimizing it's impact. I don't share the view that the media games things for democrats. A lot of people on here rant about conspiratorial bias between liberals and the media without any real rationale.Originally posted by Moliere View PostI'd agree with that but it doesn't answer the question posed by creekster.

Frank Ryan, this is my problem with the media's portrayal of Trump.
