There are plenty of right wingers in there, but when it comes to the big dogs they tend to lean left more often than not. Obama took his share of criticism but it wasn't that bad...of course he also didn't do too many stupid things apart from Obamacare and his lack of managerial skills.

The media has no interest in shielding any leader from scandal. They love that shit. For example, the NY Times broke the story about Clinton using her own server for government business. Yes, a lot of reporters are liberal, but a lot of publishers and media CEOs are conservatives.

Frank, no one says they will ignore a SCANDAL, but surely you admit bias or preference exist? Surely you don't contend that all coverages take place in a vacuum of personal interest?
      PLesa excuse the tpyos.

I think the media does a good job covering US politics, regardless of who has an R or D in front of their name.

          I don't.

Most journalists seem blissfully unaware of their own political bias and live in a bubble just many other voters, even though a proper journalist degree focuses significantly on bias and filtering for one's bias.

I find journalism does a better job of reporting matters that have little or no connection to politics. In fields excluding politics, journalists of good training seem to do a fair, middling and even good job.

          • Dems don't look good when they refuse to applaud when Trump says he is working to defend the country from radical Islamic terrorism.

            • Dems don't believe in defending the constitution. Sad.

I'd agree with that but it doesn't answer the question posed by creekster.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

That bias exists? Duh, of course it does, but quality new outlets do a pretty good job of minimizing it's impact. I don't share the view that the media games things for democrats. A lot of people on here rant about conspiratorial bias between liberals and the media without any real rationale.

                        • I can't to see how Trump's weekly listing of crimes committed by immigrants works out. That's a nice step toward unity.
