Like I said, it is my understanding protection for minority religions is being taken out. Christians in those countries can thank the PC dems, 9th district court and the media for their loss of an exception.
Like it or not, the Constitution doesn't allow for the government to favor one religion over another. That said, a terrorist wouldn't have a problem lying about his religion.

So did my mom... I even begged her not to do it.

Yeah, that is why they move out... to be from Idaho.

              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I'm not sure what you're getting at. In trouble? Where are they yelling this? Syria? Palestine? In a makeshift ISIS jail? You know the refugee program is run first through the U.N. and secondarily via the U.S. Department of State, who determine eligibility for refugee status. A refugee is a refugee. If the U.N. cannot refer any refugees in the camp to the U.S. for processing because of their religion, then that is a religious test we've incorporated.

In the mission field I loved getting a companion from Idaho or later as a DL and ZL having them in my District or Zone. My experience was the Idaho Elders were always ready to work and work hard. My frist greenie was from Idaho and he said he was used to getting up early and so volunteered to always take the first shower in the morning.

California Elders were fun, but they were the ones I had the most problem with when it came to keeping the rules.

I'll blame my ethnocentrism. I automatically thought you were talking about oppression of some Christian religion.

In the context of refugees, sure it does. The US has granted asylum for members of specific religions in certain regions long before Trump took office.

I guess I should have added nine, any of those nine countries that have restrictions. I watched various TV programs and a lot of lawyers including Alan Dershowitz who said disqualifying it based on religion was bogus. For the court to refer back to campaign speech and something Rudy said, but wasn't in the document was bogus.

You side with the lawyers who claim religious discrimination because of the excreption for Christians and I side with the lawyers that called that bogus. Now, with the new executive order not having the exception for Christians in it, it will be interesting to see how a claim of religious discrimation is made.

This is an example of the sort of persectuion Trump has pointed at. And yes, the constitution is perfectly fine with the USA favoring one religious group over another for purposes of granting asylum. Moreover, very few posts in this thread are describing the last EO accurately, and none of them can perfectly predict the next one. I think we should wait and see what it says before we get all lathered up again.
