That's a new one for me. Where did you see that?"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

Maybe you haven't heard, but he wants to ban muslims from entering the US.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostThat's a new one for me. Where did you see that?"There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

1)Since I didn't list it as a plus, it is a neutral to negative. Just not bright enough to have a definitive opinion.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostHow do you feel about his anti-free-trade, protectionist thinking?
How do you feel about spending billions on a fence that will likely be ineffective?
How do you feel about his hostility toward freedom of religion?
How do you feel about his threats against a free press? Never mind. We know your answer to that one.
2) I specifically left out building a wall because I am not in favor of it.
3) I am going with his current speak not his campaign speak. His reviewing of the vetting process for 7 countries that puts on hold 15% of a religion is not a ban on a religion. What a stretch for those of you who say this.
4) Trump and the press are thin skinned whiners. It is an interesting show. Better than the Obama vs Fox drama.

Why is there an exception for non-muslim refugees then? Totally not a stretch.Originally posted by byu71 View Post

In this thread Uncle Ted is my favorite poster. Elsewhere I still have that long term bond with PAC and napper. I have forgotten how they dumped me for a Ute at golf outings.Originally posted by Walter Sobchak View PostUT has always straddled the fence between rational and crazy. But he's from Idaho. I bought their argument that they were a minority in those countries and were at more jeopardy and less likely to be a terrorist.Originally posted by Commando View PostWhy is there an exception for non-muslim refugees then? Totally not a stretch.
That said, my understanding is the new exec. order will not have the exception.
The REAL stretch is to have a ruling affecting 15% of a religion and then calling it a religous ban. I know there is disagreement but I find the assertion laughable.

Well, minority religions in some of those targeted countries have faced significant trial and displacement at the hands of the people in charge. They are not just economic refugees. That's the type of standard the U.S. had used in the past, so no big surprise.Originally posted by Commando View PostWhy is there an exception for non-muslim refugees then? For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

They're not any more in jeopardy than the rest of the thousands of people perishing under the bombs being dropped in the middle of cities, fleeing for their lives. Trump specifically asked Giuliani how to phrase a muslim ban that could pass legal muster. He didn't get back to him, I take it.Originally posted by byu71 View PostI bought their argument that they were a minority in those countries and were at more jeopardy and less likely to be a terrorist.

OK, A Muslim and a Christian are walking down the street in any of those countries. The Muslim yells out Allah is great. The Christian yells out, Jesus is great. Who is more likely to be in trouble?Originally posted by Commando View PostThey're not any more in jeopardy than the rest of the thousands of people perishing under the bombs being dropped in the middle of cities, fleeing for their lives. Like I said, it is my understanding protection for minority religions is being taken out. Christians in those countries can thank the PC dems, 9th district court and the media for their loss of an exception.

Idaho is crazy. Almost my entire family in Idaho voted for Trump.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostHell no... that place is crazy. Maybe even worst than Arizona.
Doesn't mean I don't claim it. BTW Arizona is a haven of diversity, critical thinking, and progressive ideas compared to Idaho.
