Mitt, please keep your dignity intact and avoid even the appearance of groveling to get the SoS position. This is a train wreck that you will have no control over.

    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Perhaps it is the optimist in me but Trump might just be a smart and shrewd SOB. He might be approaching governing like a businessman. Once my use with you is no more I am done with you - see ya Huck and Newt and onto Mitt.

On the other hand there might be a reason politicians try to never sour a relationship, it could come back to bite him.

If it makes liberals howl, there is at least a 50% chance I might smile over it...on occasion, unfortunately, they can be correct.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

LOL! Good one, mbn. But don't joke about that. Mitt would never do any of those things.

          • Wow. I wonder if Trump will try to do something like this:

            http://www.theverge.com/2016/11/23/1...ry-powers-bill

The bill will legalize the UK’s global surveillance program, which scoops up communications data from around the world, but it will also introduce new domestic powers, including a government database that stores the web history of every citizen in the country. UK spies will be empowered to hack individuals, internet infrastructure, and even whole towns — if the government deems it necessary.
The key point about this power, though, is that it has no judicial oversight. Access to citizens’ web history will be solely at the discretion of the police, with a specially trained supervising officer approving or denying requests. "It makes this kind of surveillance a simple, routine activity," says Killock, adding that without oversight, it’ll be impossible to know when police target specific groups disproportionately. That’s definitely a problem in a country where even senior law enforcement officers admit that claims that the police force is institutionally racist have "some justification."

                • In a perverse way, I'm enjoying watching the Trump transition follies. With respect to the SoS slot, he seems to be treating this a bit like The Apprentice, building suspense over who will be chosen at the season finale. I esp. love Conway's comments about how the base (i.e., Giuliani, Gingrich and Hannity--I really doubt the masses care all that much) thinks Romney would be a terrible choice, and then there are rumors Trump is upset with Conway. Conway's very smart and politically savvy, and there's no way she says all that crap without Trump's blessing/instruction. Trump wants to build the suspense, while yanking Romney's chain a bit to see how he reacts. Fortunately, Romney's smart enough not to react, at least thus far.

Trump has to be enjoying all the drama, including his meeting with Petraeus which really gets to the Hillaryites who say what he did was far worse than Hillary's email screw-ups. If this whole thing weren't fraught with potentially disastrous long-term consequences, this would be great theater.

Well Betray-us did actually plead guilty to passing classified information his uncleared girlfriend. Don't know how that doesn't disqualify him for the Repubs in Congress. It might be nice comedy to seem them twist and turn to justify support for him.

I guess so. But every time I saw her on TV she seemed like an unhinged lunatic.

Believe me, I'm no fan of Conway, but I have to admit she's very good at what she does even though I don't like what she does. And yes, creepy looking.

Rudy Giuliani would think this is the greatest thing in the history of the country if it can be pulled off here. Theoretically it shouldn't be possible to do this here. Britain doesn't have a bill of rights like ours.

Like them or hate them, what Trump (with Conway's help) did was incredible. He beat both the dems and the republicans while spending half the money Clinton did. I began this election cycle thinking Trump was very bright and said stupid things as a strategy, then, as the election progressed I thought he really was just as dumb as all the stuff he says. Now that he won and they way he did it, I really don't know what to believe. Is he just the luckiest piece of shit ever? Or, is he some mastermind that knows all the right levers to pull? I really don't know.
