Or Tennessee, or Georgia, or Alabama, or South Carolina, or . . . .Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

With all the talk about caravans, I'm wondering why there hasn't been more talk about the situation in Honduras and at least talking about intervention there.
I decided to look up a few things and this article was interesting:

I think it would make more sense to address the actual issue at the source than throw some money at ineffective border walls.

Dems question whether America was ever that great...
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/eri...rica-was-greatIn pointed terms during an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday, Obama-era attorney general Eric Holder posed the question to MAGA-chanting Trump supporters: "Exactly when did you think America was great?"
The comments echoed those of Cuomo, who took heavy criticism for remarking last year that America “was never that great.” Together, both off-the-cuff comments amount to stunning statements from public figures who until recently were considered potential presidential candidates. In both cases, the Democrats took shots at America's past as part of an effort to criticize President Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan.

Eh. Holder asks a valid question. What era is Trump and MAGA trying to get back to, exactly? Not saying it wasn't great in 2015, but I don't think that's what Trump is going for."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

I think the better question is what does trump think we have lost and what is he trying to restore? It's not really a time thing. That's what makes people think it looks like racism or predatory economic practices or something. Trump speaks vaguely so that everyone can find whatever they want in the past, whatever their issue is, and believe that Trump is going to bring it forward, whether it be good, bad or in between. It is a great slogan for purposes of winning an election. Not so good for running and unifying a country.Originally posted by Commando View PostEh. Holder asks a valid question. The problem with Holder's question/statements is that he implies it never has been great. Holder looks back and only identifies the negative aspects of the past. One could easily look back and identify the triumphs of the past just as selectively. Perfection is not a requisite of greatness. I think both he and Trump are wrong; America is and has been great despite its imperfections.PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Seems like there is WAY too much dissection and evaluation of a campaign slogan going on here.
Hillary's campaign is "Stronger Together". What is stronger? Who is included in the together?
Obama when with Hope and Change. Hope for what? Change what?
They're just campaign slogans. Intended to be short and sweet, easy to remember, and hopefully grab your attention and/or inspire as being something that you can get behind. But in the end, they really don't mean all that much beyond that.

So Trump is cutting assistance to countries where the immigrants are coming from. I'm sure this won't have any destabilizing impact at all. It's like he wants to manufacture a crisis.
Trump cuts all direct assistance to Northern Triangle countries Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala
In a stunning about-face, State Department officials said that President Donald Trump is cutting off all direct assistance to the so-called Northern Triangle countries of El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala.
“At the Secretary’s instruction, we are carrying out the President’s direction and ending FY [fiscal year] 2017 and FY 2018 foreign assistance programs for the Northern Triangle,” a State Department spokesperson told ABC News, referring to U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. “We will be engaging Congress as part of this process.”
These three countries are the primary source of migrants to the U.S., but for years the U.S. has worked with them to stabilize their political environments and economies and end violence and corruption so that migrants wouldn’t leave in the first place.
Trump hinted at the cuts earlier on Friday, telling reporters,”I’ve ended payments to Guatemala, to Honduras, and to El Salvador. No money goes there anymore.”
While the president has threatened these cuts before, this time the administration is actually following through.
Trump said the funds totaled $500 million, but it wasn’t clear Friday if that figure was accurate. The State Department announced in December that the U.S. would mobilize $5.8 billion in public and private american investment to these three countries.
“We’re not paying them anymore because they haven’t done a thing for us,” he added.
His senior-most advisers, however, have carried a very different tune, talking very often about the importance of this assistance to stem the flow of illegal immigration.
