President Trump: Making America Great Again...

My FB feed, knowing my deep affection for our current President, gave me this video of Obama's 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner speech that really pissed off Trump whose antipathy toward Obama is pathological. If you don't want to watch the whole five minutes, go to the 4;45 mark for a prophetic vision of the Trump presidency.

That was prescient."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."
"You are an intemperate, unscientific poster who makes light of very serious matters.”

I’m going to pass on UFC Freedom Fest 2026 but I’ll be interested to hear how it goes. I’m genuinely sad that we’re commemorating one of the greatest moments in human progress by focusing on the most vainglorious president in our history. It’s instructive to re-watch this 45-second video of Trump expounding on his understanding of the Declaration, and it is all sooooo Trump. Note the faux elegance of the curtain and gold framing a copy of the Declaration, his being caught off guard by the teacher’s question when he hadn’t done the reading, and a complete misunderstanding of the Declaration’s significance. Trump is a brilliant self-marketer, an egomaniac, and a certifiable dunce.

Have we gone full Idiocracy yet? I know we've been half way there, but I think we've reached full on Idiocracy at this point."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Expressing no opinion of the actual event in question since I am as ambivilant as one can be about it, the term "white trash" is an embarrassngly racist term. Its implication is that the default for white folks is that we are non-trashy. It could also be implied from that term that this default geniality does not as readily apply to other colors of skin: you never hear of brown, black, red (except for those wearing U of U colors), etc. trash. I am embarassed for anyone who uses the term white trash.Originally posted by frank ryan View Post
