  • Trump Nominates Keven Warsh as new FED. We will see how quickly this gets passed as GOP have lready vocally said they will not pass with current Indictment of Powell remains in place..

President Donald Trump on Friday named Kevin Warsh to succeed Jerome Powell as Federal Reserve chair, ending a prolonged odyssey that has seen unprecedented turmoil around the central bank.

The decision culminates a process that officially began last summer but started much earlier than that, with Trump launching a fusillade of criticism against the Powell-led Fed almost since Powell took the job in 2018.

“I have known Kevin for a long period of time, and have no doubt that he will go down as one of the GREAT Fed Chairmen, maybe the best,” Trump said in a Truth Social post announcing the selection.

The pick of Warsh, 55, likely won’t ripple markets because of his past Fed experience and Wall Street’s view that he wouldn’t always do Trump’s bidding.

“He has the respect and credibility of the financial markets,” said David Bahnsen, chief investment officer of The Bahnsen Group, on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”

“There was no person who was going to get this job who wasn’t going to be cutting rates in the short term. However, I believe longer term he will be a credible candidate,” added Bahnsen.

Stock market futures nevertheless were slightly negative Friday morning, though off their lows since Warsh’s appointment became clear.
Trump’s decision to nominate Warsh comes at one of the most precarious moments for the U.S. central bank in decades — with inflation not fully defeated, government borrowing escalating and the Fed itself facing unusually direct political pressure over how it conducts monetary policy.

Most recently, the Justice Department subpoenaed Powell regarding the construction project. In an uncharacteristically blunt response, Powell charged the move was a “pretext” to push the Fed into following Trump’s orders and ease policy further.

To that end, the nomination comes as questions about Fed independence, a bedrock of central bank credibility, have moved from academic debate into concern. Trump and other administration officials have floated ideas ranging from tighter White House oversight to changes in how the central bank sets rates, including forcing the chair to consult with the president on rate decisions.

    • Seems like the Guardian feels a certain kind of way about Melania:

No doubt there is a great documentary to be made about Melania Knauss, the ambitious model from out of Slovenia who married a New York real-estate mogul and then found herself cast in the role of a latter-day Eva Braun, but the horrific Melania emphatically isn’t it. It’s one of those rare, unicorn films that doesn’t have a single redeeming quality. I’m not even sure it qualifies as a documentary, exactly, so much as an elaborate piece of designer taxidermy, horribly overpriced and ice-cold to the touch and proffered like a medieval tribute to placate the greedy king on his throne.

I agree with what he stands for conservativism.. But I would say he is a Dem now not a liberal. People tend to forget the Dems have also fallen off a cliff in their identity politics and other extremism that is being taken over by their far left ideologies..

There is no moderate Dem or GOP anymore...

                      • I'm happy to see Dan Bongino land on his feet after leaving the FBI. Although it has to be the laziest exercise to have Trump phone in on your show and sit there while he weaves. And oh man, does he ever weave here:

"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."
"You are an intemperate, unscientific poster who makes light of very serious matters.”

His profile describes himself as a "True Republican." You just called him a Dem for taking very reasonable stances that aren't in line with MAGA GOP. Then you accused all Dems (including the one you just labeled a Dem for having conservative stances) of only having far left ideologies.

                          An interesting comment:

Also this one, which sounds a lot like positions you have taken on here:

                          So are you a Dem?

More moderate and shares values that most GOP would vote for. He is a union-based Dem focused on Worker protections and made it very clear he will speak on identity politics not the lightning-rod topics that he most likely does not agree with that Dems do. I am not sure this is relatable in a State Senate Race.

I do believe GOP is going to lose this election cycle but that is more based on the fact that the sitting President and his party usually lose the following November election cycle. I also think Trump is an ass and he is doing significant damage so the loss is going to be much worse. Specifically in the house..

You mis-read my point. He is a Dem in comparison to the uber-right GOP that follow Trump. If the GOP came back in alignment, he would likely be a GOP. But the party on a National level with Trump running is not the same GOP I grew up with nor my parents. But the current Dem ideology is extremely far left. There is no moderate for either party. I would say I fall in line with the past Dem and not the current Dem. But that is in specific areas. Social Programs, I am a Dem to a certain extent. Fiscal responsibility, Capitalism etc. GOP. Why I would not vote on a national level for any Dem (Nor GOP if I do not like their platform). They are run on extremism and I cannot trust they fall in line with my opinion. An example. I am not voting for the GOP in the next Governor of Ohio race. I will be voting for Amy Acton.
