Temporary protective status was given to some people from a few countries where it was really bad. When this has been done in the past normally those who come here are eventually given a higher level of immigrant status when the designation is removed from that country. Trump’s values are that all immigration is bad and cruelty is good, so he removes the protective status and kicks them out. I tend to agree with this. I'd prefer the temp protected status immigrants to continue to be able to live in the US. That would include refugees from Haiti or other places that truly are threatening to normal, everyday citizens. However, that's not the case for all immigrants. I find it odd that immigrants from Venezuela travel through stable countries and end up in the US. If they truly are refugees, why not stay in Costa Rica? Trying to make a better life in the US is very different than being a refugee seeking asylum.Originally posted by SteelBlue View Post
