Agreed that his testimony is troubling, and should move the needle, but that's not really my point.

    • Rubio did really well and honestly didn't seem lawyerly the way the Idaho senator did. But, I think the quote I'll always remember from that testimony is, "Lordy, I hope there are tapes."

I have some bad news for you. I had just turned 13 when the watergate hearings began and I was glued to the TV whenever I was home and they were on. But I am sure with your families' guidance she will not turn out like me.
          PLesa excuse the tpyos.

We can only hope, but now that I know that about you, her prognosis seems grim...

Just love her as she is.
              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I listened to a bunch of Comey's testimony, and I'm pretty sure this is all going no where.

Trump, for all of his moronic tweets and comments, was at least smart enough to use the word "hope" and avoid any language that sounds like a direct order. And that is honestly the worst that Comey can come up with. Writing down word for word what was said immediately after it happened, he's got "I sure hope you can see..." in quotes. Sure - Comey can say he "felt like" he was being told to do something. And Trump can just say it was all a big misunderstanding. He never intended it as an order. He was just expressing what he hoped would happen.

All of this talk of clouds is just silly. The Democrats have been doing their best to push the narrative that this is an illegitimate presidency and was gained through some trickery and collusion between Trump and the Russians.

So when Trump says that his administration is functioning under a cloud, he isn't wrong. And when he says if he really isn't under investigation he would like to have that information get as much run as all of the stories saying he colluded with the Russians - I honestly can't blame him.

I'm not saying the Russians aren't a bunch of pricks who want to mess with US politics. No one should be surprised when they try. And if they are, then we should figure out what they are doing, how they are doing it, and stop them. But the guy, moron or not, is the president now. And he's right that it's silly to keep pushing the illegitimacy of his presidency instead of debating him on the merits of his policy.

Just as silly as all of the time wasted insisting that Obama was a Kenyan.

                  • lol. The problem is that his policies are so facially without merit and ridiculous we just want the asshole out of office. And this is not how a President conducts himself.

Pretty sure the potential legal and constitutional issues of the Comey hearing are anything but 'as silly as the Kenyan' thing.

So - you're saying that all of the speculation over and over again that Trump colluded with the Russians - and which Comey himself said was never under investigation because there was no evidence of it - is a bigger constitutional issue than Obama being from Kenya - which was also never a real investigation in spite of some people getting riled up over it.

Just to clarify - if Trump had really colluded with the Russians - then that would be a constitutional issue and a pretty big deal. Comey himself is saying it never happened, there's no evidence of it, and it's never been the subject of an investigation.

Just as - if Obama had been born in Kenya of non-citizen parents - that would be a constitutional issue and a pretty big deal. But there was no evidence of it and it never was the subject of a serious investigation.

Actually , a number of presidents have done exactly the sorts of things Trump has done. It's just that he blows through the halls of power like Rodney Dangerfield at the Caddyshack Country Club dance and it disgusts everyone and makes his stunts looks worse. But if you think that other presidents havent tried to influence FBI investigations, etc., I think you are kidding yourself.

Yes - most presidents just tell the leader of Russia that once they're elected they'll have a lot more flexibility to do whatever the hell they want on an open mic. They don't bother sending their son-in-law to open back channels to do this.
