    • I was in Canada over the weekend. Going through the Dairy Queen drive thru, the young server asked me to tell Trump to get rid of the tariffs. I told him, I would try my best, but that he doesn't listen to me.

      • So Trump is actually considering joining in the conflict with Iran?

I’ll have you know I’ve watched about 10 hockey playoff games this year. Enough to know I’ll only watch games in the playoff season!

I hope so. We've kicked that can down the road long enough. The sooner we get it over with the sooner the second coming can happen.

I'm not sure what is going on here, but the caption doesn't really make much sense. Typical immigration hearings don't take place in federal courthouses, unless the person was charged with re-entry (which is a federal felony). Immigration hearings take place in immigration court, which is an executive branch function that doesn't happen at courthouses.

If it was a felony re-entry case that got dismissed, the person would have likely been previously deported (unless the AUSA that charged him just completely bungled the case, which seems unlikely).

              • Mike Huckabee wants to defer to the Bible instead of the Constitution. How do we feel if we join in the Israeli war against Iran?

Well, the Appeal to Heaven flag is starting to fly over government buildings, so maybe he isn't the lone theocrat advocating for Christian Nationalist rule.

                    • I'm pretty sure history has taught us that there is no downside to getting involved in wars and nation-building in the Middle East.

Trump is an idiot and I have hated Huckabee since 2007. But if Israel bleeds Iran dry of their ballistic missile supply and eliminates most of their launchers, I would have no problem with the USAF dropping a couple MOPs on Fordo to effectively end any leverage the current Iranian regime has internationally. Trump says a lot of stupid stuff and Israel isn't always responsible but what is happening to Iran right now could bring huge benefits. All their neighbors seem to be fine with this action and they have been abandoned by global actors who many feared would try to intervene.

Also comparisons to nation building in Iraq and Afghanistan are silly. Trump is a lot of things, but a nation-builder itching to put boots on the ground in foreign wars is not one of them (he just wants to put the military in our own cities )

Yeah but with all that previous experience surely this time will be different!

Depends on the province you are in. I have heard they're more friendly in Alberta and Saskatchewan. they are more conservative there. I have heard there are secession talks, so that they can do more drilling for oil and stuff.

This is going to be a real test for Trump. He seems to really be going hard on the stuff he said he would go hard on so far (Tariffs, deportation, etc.) but one of the things he has insisted is that he will not get the U.S. into any more foreign wars. This smells like Iraq/Afghanistan all over again, beginning with the "weapons of mass destruction" now in Iran.

I wonder how much warning Netanyahu gave Trump before the attacks? I haven't looked that up, if the information is even available. If not much, this is certainly looking like Netanyahu is pulling the strings, which I think will irritate Trump. Guess we will just watch this mess play out.
