Reminder that Utah voted for FDR in 1932. In 1928, even with the church's endorsement of the Democratic candidate, Herbert Hoover won by 8 points. FDR won by 15. It's also the election that saw Reed Smoot lose his Senate seat to a Democrat (There was no 1930 Senate race in Utah, and the other Senator, a Democrat, was re-elected in 1934).
