I don't defend things just because Trump does it. I read the Op-Ed. In my view that alone probably doesn't get her thrown out. However, we've seen a lot of crap go down on campuses and I think it's very likely she's doing other things. If she's come out for Hamas that alone could get her student visa revoked. Right now Rubio seems like one of the more sane administration members. I doubt he's just throwing out Muslims willy-nilly.

dont you think maybe they can go through courts and have a reason to do these things?

No. According to my research, this is not in the purview of the federal judiciary. DoS gets to decide.

I mean they are blocking them so clearly it falls under jurisdiction. you cant just deport legal residents because you want to.

I can't but evidently the DoS, providing the visa holder violates terms, can. Here's a quote from Rubio:

"Those who support designated terrorist organizations, including Hamas, threaten our national security," he wrote on X. "The United States has zero tolerance for foreign visitors who support terrorists. Violators of U.S. law — including international students — face visa denial or revocation, and deportation."
There are a bunch of articles as well as clarification on legal sites that address the issue of whether the judiciary has the right to block visa revocations. Here's one of many:
                  https://www.boundless.com/blog/supre...a-revocations/

The Supreme Court unanimously ruled Tuesday that federal courts cannot review immigration officials’ decisions to revoke previously approved visa petitions, a decision that could significantly strengthen executive power over immigration.
The student in question is in Louisiana pending deportation. Just because a judge tries doesn't mean the judge has standing.

Sounds like MAGA is anti-free speech. Deportation is the ultimate cancel culture manifestation

Rubio said that "violators of U.S. law...face visa...revocation, and deportation.

Which U.S. law did this individual violate?

Ask Rubio. I've read that she is an active Hamas supporter. Hamas is a designated terrorist organization. Also, if she participated in an ILLEGAL campus protest then it could be argued that she violated the law.

                          youve read where?

so do you call for the deportation of people who protested ILLEGALLY at the capital?

seems worthy of arrest if it was so illegal

Dude, do you own research. I've posted articles and quotes. I don't have to supply a link to everything I've read. You certainly don't.

Being a "supporter" of Hamas does not make one a "terrorist." Taking part in or abetting violent terrorist acts will do that. Being a vocal supporter of Hamas is not a good look in the U.S., so it would put one on a watch list.

I assume the law being referenced is the Aliens Enemies Act (explained here), which gives the President the power to deport people (I've see SecState referenced elsewhere, but the linked explanation notes the President has the power). The issue is that the Act was passed in the late 1700s and has only be invoked three times: the War of 1812, WWI and WWII. So, this appears to overreach by the Trump Admin and that is being and will be litigated in the courts. We are not currently at war no matter what Trump says. He can go to Congress to get a declaration of war, so why doesn't he do that?

This appears to be a free speech issue. MAGA talks a lot about free speech, but then is hypocritical about speech with which it disagrees. MAGA needs to quit being such a bunch of snowflakes.
                              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

she isnt a hamas supporter. just assuming she deserves to be deported because she was arrested and you assume rubio wouldnt do it without deserving it is just going with what trump says
