For instance, if you read an email from a San Francisco high school about an ICE officer sitting on a school bus and approaching a middle school kid to ask for his ID and where he's from just apply a bit of skepticism. Like that sure is odd that an ICE officer is sitting on a middle school bus and randomly asks a middle school kid for his ID. Then think about the stories you've heard from middle school kids that often turn out to be distant cousin of reality. You might even consider that the story is so outrageous that you hold judgment until more facts come out. That way if the story ends up being nonsense (Jussie Smollet, Steele dossier, etc.), then you can hold your head high that you didn't fall for or propagate misinformation. If the story is true then you can safely mount that high horse knowing that you gave it a fair hearing and your outrage is appropriately placed.
We don't agree on a lot of things but I really don't think the entire Steele Dossier. I think that just became a right wing talking point, and like the Mueller report, no one bothered to actually read about it.

An email from a public school is probably more Truthful than whatever gets pumped out on twitter by MAGA, like the whole immigrants eating dogs thing.

With ICE, remember these are the kinds of things Trump and Stephen Miller have talked about doing, this isn't some absurd possibility.

      Agreed.

Yep, that's pretty evil if true.
      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

      • This is small potatoes with everything else going on, but even after 8 years of all Trump all the time, the pettiness of him pulling security details of former advisors is unbelievably embarrassing for a national leader.
"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."
"You are an intemperate, unscientific poster who makes light of very serious matters.”

The pulling of Fauci's security detail smacks strongly of "Won't someone rid me of this turbulent Doctor?"

Of all the people whose details got pulled, Fauci is probably the most vulnerable. There is a horde of MAGA people who hate him.

Sure does, but God forbid Biden pardon him out of fear a partisan MAGA justice department would after him.

I'm sure it be long until some influencer, MTG type or even Trump himself alludes to Fauci being assassinated.

Trump doing this stuff is probably unprecedented but his followers won't care

You can’t expect him to throw out all of the swamp in just four years, right?
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Meh, he doesn't need no stinking amendment. Executive order!

Of course, it's probably just Trump blathering on and on.

But still pretty evil to make such threats in the face of many Americans who have lost everything.

If someone does do something to one of these who have lost secret service protection, does he issue a pardon?

Ha I appreciate the YO level of discretion. But with history as our guide, how about we treat all Trump related evilness as true until proven otherwise?

It is evil and it's un-American. To tie disaster relief to people in exchange for a political favor or loyalty is like Saddam Hussein.

He is way overplaying his hand after only 4 days. It will not go very well and will likely make him even crazier when he sees it start to not go well.

Trump is unique in his ability to bring out the worst in both his supporters and opponents. If his opponents hadn’t chased every conspiratorial rabbit hole over the last 8 years they’d have likely been much more effective at stopping him.
