    Yah, no, sorry. Frank is correct, both you and Shaka are out to lunch. The stories about Gaetz, Boebert, Jim Jordan, Jerry Falwell Jr, the Trump Epstein friendship and Denny Hastert are not unfounded conspiracies. To suggest otherwise demonstrates a lack of critical thinking.

      I didn't say anything about those stories. I was just showing Shaka the Dem version of Qanon.

        There isn't a good equivalent though. QAnon a whole social movement, complete with conventions and conferences and bumper stickers and t-shirts.

          Pam Bondi seems as determined to carry out Trump's promise of retribution as Gaetz would have been, and she is better skilled to do so. I think she'll be confirmed and then it will likely get very ugly.

          I'm not looking forward to the ill-bred and borderline illiterate Trump delivering his second inaugural address, which I'm certain will be the polar opposite (in terms of eloquence and high mindedness) of Lincoln's second inaugural, delivered in far more challenging times than we have today. It closed with the following:

          ​​​​​​With malice toward none with charity for all with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right let us strive on to finish the work we are in to bind up the nation's wounds, to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan ~ to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.
          Imagine Trump's speechwriters putting that in his address. He'd fire them.

            Dude you constantly refer to Melania as an escort/hooker. This has never been confirmed yet you state it as fact. Nothing nefarious has been proven about Trump/Epstein other than they are acquainted and have hung out. I'm friends with a woman who has hung out with both. She's also a BYU grad. Does this make her guilty of something?

              I would love that to happen as well (although OMB is already tasked with auditing government agencies to make them more efficient). I see a lot of noise about bringing feds back to the office. I don't have a big problem with that. But that's not gong to be any type of solution to problems people think exist. The biggest grift that Trump/MAGA has perpetuated on the American people is the myth of "deep state" bureaucrats out there foiling all the MAGA plans I spent a career in federal government and with each new administration we loyally implemented the lawful policies of that administration. I don't recall one instance of someone sabotaging implementation. Did we advise against some policies? Sure, and for good reason. But it they said go forward, we would fall in line (unless of course what was being proposed violated laws/regulations). Also, the greatest inefficiencies I saw surrounded money: how it was obtained, how it was spent, how it was accounted for, etc. And that was to keep people of stealing it or gaining an unfair advantage over competitors in front of what is supposed to be an unbiased government.

              I look forward to what they come up with, because I look forward to people screaming over losing things they rely on. As the dude points out, we're realistically talking about only 20 percent of the budget and the federal payroll is already at historic lows. Plus, most regulations and policies have some kind of backing in legislation, so that will need to be changed.

              Also, this DOGE is a non-governmental effort. No one is legally beholden to whatever they propose or find. Plus, they have not legal accountability to tax payers. Better move quickly; midterm elections are just around the corner. Seems pretty FUBAR to me.

                If you want to pretend a dude who is close friends with epstein , went to his island a bunch and called maxwell a good friend and person isn't guilty then you are letting politics trump logic

                        That fact that you don't believe the things I do shouldn't lead you to assume I'm lying.

                        It's like you reflexively disbelieve any criticism of Trump.

                        It's also ironic as Trump is chronically dishonest. I'd say he goes above the typical politician dishonesty rate.

                        He said the 2020 election was stolen. It wasn't. He lied. He lied about volunteering at ground zero after 9/11.


                        Trump and Epstein didn't just "hang out." They were close friends, per Epstein. Trump was accused by a woman of raping her a a 13 year old. She filed a lawsuit but backed off due to death threats. You can dismiss that and it is disputed but it remains a real allegation.

                        Trump famously said Epstein that he was a "terrific guy."

                        "I've known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy. He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side."

                        Trump also said he doesn't intend to release all of the Epstein files because he doesn't want anyone's name being harmed.

                        When Trump as asked about Ghislaine Maxwell's arrest at press-conference, he uncharacteristically and casually said, "I wish her well."


                        A court held Trump liable for raping a woman.

                        Multiple pageant contestants have accused Trump of watching them while they were unaddressed, including underage ones.

                        Epstein boasted about how Trump loved seducing his friends' wives.


                        Melania does dispute she was an escort but Russian just aired her nude pics on tv. I don't find her having likely been an escort as concerning other than it contradicts this weird version of Trump that evangelicals have.


                        What is a bit unfounded, exaggerated and mythologized is that Trump was a great business success.

                            Trump is threatening actual conservative Republicans that if they oppose any of his nominations, that Musk will fund their primary opponents.

                            Musk is fully aligned with Trump and his foreign allies. I think it's clear that Musk is not some misunderstand titan of industry but actor.

                            Conservative influencers, in particular some of the ones bankrolled by the Kremlin are now talking about how they Musk will help influence to the algorithm to suppress liberal voices on social media.


                            Some are political problems are a direct result of the GOP choosing not to police their own bad actors. In a more sane world Tucker Carlson and similar people would have been scrutinized and abandoned by popular voices because of how unethical he has been.


                            Influencers outed as recipients of Russian cash would also be sidelined.
