  • I don’t know about you guys, but there’s a few things about this new administration that has me pretty optimistic. Most of all is DOGE. I’ve worked with the feds for a good part of my career and can’t wait to see some bureaucrats rattled. I know the knee-jerk reaction for many will be to oppose anything and everything coming from Trump, but that’s a feeble-minded response. Embrace good ideas regardless of the source and this is a great idea. One that is long overdue. It likely won’t be perfect in execution, but it will be a net positive. Don’t be an apologist for the bureaucracy.

I wonder how long it will take for all of them to realize that entitlements (social security, medicare, etc), defense spending, and interest on the debt consume 80% of the federal budget. Fiddling with the slop on the other 20% is a drop in the bucket. Performative nonsense.

You say performative nonsense, I say it’s a great start. Like telling someone deep in debt to stop eating out and start cooking at home. Sure it’s not going to immediately pay off their student loan, but setting an expectation of financial discipline is always a good thing. It’s literally the first time since Gingrich, maybe the Tea Party, that anyone has attempted to address paring down the federal bureaucracy.

I would feel a bit more enthusiastic about it if we had someone other than Musk and Vivek leading the charge. I just read that they put MTG in charge of one of the DOGE committees. Oh boy.

Nah, it wouldn't. Al Franken is a recent example. He got axed because he grabbed a women's ass. Not appropriate. I don't feel bad for him. That was more recent. Trump is pretty near unparalleled. A court found him responsible for rape. He paid off a porn star. His wife was an escort. He says gross untoward things about his daughter. Trump and Clinton were both gross friends with Epstein. Epstein called Trump his closest friend.

Then you have Matt Gaetz. Jim Jordan and Ohio State wrestling team stuff. Then you have Denny Hastert. Lauren Boebert giving handys in a public theater. Jerry Falwell Jr. and his hypocritical open marriage cuck stuff. Roy Moore barely lost the general election in Alabama. Tim Ballard - he hasn't been shunned by the right-wing even when his antics are obvious.

One side is worse, or I should say seems to have a greater tolerance for these things for political advantage.

This a social-media celebrity cabinet. They aren't scrutinizing agencies for efficiencies. They are talking about axing most of the federal workforce and randomly eliminating entire government agencies. No one should trust Musk's objectivity and intention at this point. Twitter is practically Trump-media at this point.

I’m currently seeing the government bureaucracy up close as we try to get some grants from the DOE. We have pretty decided that the cost to comply with the grant regulations will cost more than the grant itself.

Is there a Democrat version of QAnon that you subscribe to? No one on this site posts more speculation as fact.

The Bowles Simpson Fiscal Commission (2010?) was a great bipartisan attempt to substantially reduce the deficit and perhaps even the debt. But it died. I have les optimism for the success of any plan led by Vivek and Elon. But I'd love to be surprised.

I mean we know the people leading jt have no ideas. He said he'll randomly cut 75% . Sounds intelligent.

Nah it's all true. Jim Jordan knew of a coaching abusing college students and tried to cover it up. Rfk cheated on his wife 40 times in a year causing her suicide. Donald raped kids with Epstein.

                          • Shaka you condescend about the points I make but you are wildly uninformed. These aren't fringe charges or speculation.

What is speculative Matt Gaetz? Boebert? Jim Jordan? Jerry Falwell Jr? Trump-Epstein friendship? Denny Hastert? I'll be happy to point out some sources of information for you. It won't be Tucker Carlson or Ben Shapiro though.

                              • That genuinely implied and typically unfounded conspiracies like the assassination attempt being a false flag. There isn't a lot support for that.

QAnon has been courted by Trump. That isn't speculation. BlueAnon doesn't have conventions.

That's not relevant to the things Shaka says are speculative.

It's just dismissing my perspective without addressing any points of contention. Hell more news about Gaetz has come confirming he was under investigation for getting with an underage person.
