I didn't vote for her, but I think she's the smartest and the hardest-working of the bunch (now that Pete's out). She's staked herself out as far left, but I don't think she's nearly as attached to her positions as Bernie is, and is pragmatic enough to make concessions to build some sort of consensus. She's also much more likable than I think people give her credit for. I would love to see a Biden-Warren ticket, although I don't know if she'd ever go for it.

She will try to debate him on a high level and he will drag her down into the slop. When she's covered in mud, her preparation isn't going to mean anything.Originally posted by Commando View PostI know that Warren has a snowball's chance in Hell to get into the Main Event other than a VP pick, but out of all the candidates she is going to prepare and prepare and prepare and prepare. This off-the-cuff stuff Trump likes to do isn't going to work on someone like her who is not afraid of hard work. Hillary thought she would just crush him just by showing up (and who could blame her) and he managed to get under her skin without being too substantive.

If it weren't for her dishonesty and her ridiculous economic policies, she would be a decent candidate.Originally posted by Commando View PostThe part about universal child care, criminal justice reform, affordable housing, gun reform, anti-corruption government reform, lobby reform, not to mention she's about the only candidate that has informed herself and spoken intelligently and forcefully about immigration reform. That seems to be way too much reading for Biden.
The student loan thing is whatever, but Bernie's overtures for wholesale economic system reform don't resonate with me. Good great we care about people, but how is this feasible and what precautions could be taken to make sure this doesn't backfire in the worst way? Warren has ideas and at least acts like she's done her homework to support them...

I don't think it won her any votes because it's pretty much between the two polar opposites in this race, and there's not enough oxygen for someone like her who demonstrates both moderate and progressive qualities- it's confusing to voters, I think. Bernie has momentum and brand recognition and Biden has momentum and brand recognition. And that's what counts in a primary race.Originally posted by wapiti View PostDid it win her any votes? No. That's because no one likes her. Plus, that was Mike's first time on stage. There was a lot of low-hanging fruit.

You realize that's a bigoted term, right? And uh... what about Trump makes you think he could articulate anything about anything? You think he's going to really sting her about the cancer that windmills produce? If Warren made Bloomberg look like a child, you think Trump stands a chance?Originally posted by wapiti View PostPocahontas would get her butt kicked. No one likes her or her policies. Go Mike! or Go Joe! Both would be fine presidents, the bar is so low at this point. Bloomberg v Trump would be very entertaining.

Bernie has said some encouraging things, Biden has too, I guess-- although I feel like he's playing it extra safe and that's not too reassuring. I need someone who will come out swinging in the debates and campaign intelligently and tirelessly until November. Unfortunately I would only trust Warren to do that, too...

I also wonder to what extent time zones affect things. Two of the key states to close earliest in the evening are Virginia and N. Carolina at 7 ET. If Biden comes out strong in both of those, does it help him in western states that will have their polls open for 3 more hours?

same. I held my nose and voted for Bloomberg. Almost voted for Biden but he just bugs me and seems senile.Originally posted by YOhio View PostI just voted against Bernie and Warren. I hope it’s the last time I have to do that.

A bernie vs trump campaign would be amazing to watch. But the downside of a Bernie nomination is too great. Not only would trump get a landslide victory but the democrats would permanently reset around the extreme left. Neither of those are good for america.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI would be thrilled to see Biden over Bernie, but part of me would love to see a Bernie vs. Trump debate.
