So y'all are honoring Texas and may not have even known it!
I prefer to think that we are all dishonoring Texas by flying mini upside down Texas flags.

These weren't random idiots though. And right now is a sensitive and dangerous time in our history. MAGA and such are all about symbols and flags. It's not random or arbitrary. I don't trust a justice to consider monumentally important cases in a fair way with that nonsense surrounding. It's also fucking weird to fly a flag just for immature passive aggressive reasons.

Couple with how sketchy Clarence Thomas is with issues and it is very unhealthy. The credibility of the court would benefit from some acknowledgement and accountability with this stuff.
These are not normal times and Trump isn't normal, and I mean that in the most critical context.

Do you remember how you felt on Jan6? It's weird that someone would find that to be a great time to make some weird passive aggressive moves.

I don't think JL will ever embrace Trump.

I had no problems with the old flag and didnt see the necessity of a new one, but i know most people seemed to want it. There were other designs of the flag I would have preferred to this one though. But I've begrudgingly accepted it (much like I'll be forced to begrudgingly accept the Utah Outlaws or Utah Yetis for the hockey team).

Maybe you missed the news. Prior to the Alito photo nobody associated the upside down flag with January 6, especially not at the time his wife flew the flag. The exception being a single lunatic student at UC Berkeley. This entire thing is a fabrication. Stop falling for it.

I assume that your wife is just pissed off at your neighbors and, therefore, she is flying the little Texas flag is a distressed fashion… of course, she doing that isn’t going make us Texans go bat sh*t crazy like with a bunch of crazy liberals.

People get all emotional about the state flag for reasons I won't ever understand. And the worse the flag, the stronger they feel about it.

Speaking of which, can we all agree that anyone who flies the Maryland flag for any reason should be impeached?

That's not true, the upside down flag has been a thing for awhile. Just like the punisher logo being highjacked by those types. Shit, I remember that being a thing when I a lot younger. Pay attention to the other-keeper types and other antigovernment folks.

                          • Guys... Chief Justice John Roberts clearly doesn't care about all your b*tch'n about Alito's flags. If you didn't notice the supreme court released a ruling today and guess who got to write for the court. Yes, Justice Samuel Alito. Roberts is clearly laughing in your faces. Maybe y'all should go burn some flags or something.

You (and others) have been claiming that it is clearly associated with January 6 and the Stop the Steal movement. Well, if that is in fact the case, Google should be swamped with search results after Jan 6 and prior to the Alito case associating an upside down flag with Stop the Steal, January 6, etc. Here is a google search customized to show results from Jan 1, 2020 to May 1, 2024

                              https://www.google.com/search?q=%22u...2024&tbm=#ip=1

Take a look at the results. It is nothing like what you are claiming. In fact, if anything there are more hits for articles about people flying upside down flags in protest of the Dobbs ruling overturning Roe v Wade:

                              https://www.10tv.com/article/news/lo...9-914854e3a13a

To show support for those who have made that choice and for those who now might never get to, Mellissa and her husband, Michael, raised an inverted American flag outside their front door.

“Men should be a part of this a hundred percent,” Michael said. “It’s not really the time to be silent.”

Across the country, fueled by social media, a call for those who disagree with the Supreme Court to raise their American flags upside down. According to the U.S. Flag Code, flying the American flag inverted is legal, as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
How flying the flag is a BIPATISAN act of rebellion:

                              https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/...125240215.html

Progressive activists have used the symbol in recent months, particularly in the wake of the Supreme Court decision to overturn landmark abortion case Roe v. Wade.

In more recent days — amid fury over the FBI's search of Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence on Monday — it's become a symbol used by the former president's most loyal allies.
With both sides currently embracing a rotation of the flag in times of frustration, upside-down U.S. flags will require some context clues to determine the message they're sending. But whether it's expressing fear that human rights are being stripped away, or expressing distrust in a governmental process, it's safe to assume that some form of distress is involved.
It is - and always has been - a sign of protest or distress used by both liberals and conservatives. The idea that after Jan 6 it was universally understood as supporting the insurrection is pure fiction. It is remarkable how this narrative has been swallowed whole by so many people without any critical thought or investigation.

Not agreeing with your position doesn't mean I'm irrational.

I'm aware that the upside flag is not exclusively right-wing. That doesn't mean it hasn't been on going thing on the right going back to the late 80s.
