Most charitable explanation for the flag is that the Alitos were trolling a neighbor with STS nonsense.

Most extreme explanation is the Alitos were full blown STS sympathizers.

Either way he’s not demonstrating a temperament that should be ruling on STS motions before SCOTUS.

Why are liberals such loud crybabies?

Who cares what flag Alitos' wife flies outside their house? He is in the SCOTUS to uphold the constitution including the 1st amendment... you know, the same amendment that allows liberals and others that hate the United States to burn the flag.

Can you point to an instance of R SCOTUS justices "actively" working to keep Trump in office?

We have one whose wife was actively working on the insurrection. Again, insane and naive to think that Clarence wasnt aware of what she was doing.

And now we have another that may have been signaling support for the insurrection.

Again, insanity that this is even a discussion and people are trying to find excuses for 2 of the most powerful men to ever walk the earth.

So the R SCOTUS justices actively working to keep Trump in office aren't the R SCOTUS justices? Silly me, it's so obvious!

                  That's funny.

Recently, Governor Cox and the Utah legislature decided that the old Utah state flag is old and kind of a dud:

So they commissioned a new flag. They developed a bunch of candidate designs and let the public vote on it. Eventually they settled on this one:

I like it. Clean. Includes mountains. Modern, but the a nod to the past with the beehive.

Anyway, after this was all done, a group of folks lost their minds. Suddenly we started seeing "Repeal the new state flag" signs popping up all over. People starting hanging out in grocery store parking lots and knocking on doors collecting signatures for a ballot initiative to repeal the flag. Somehow they decided that the new flag is "woke". I have no idea why. Perhaps because Gov. Cox had a hand in it? But they failed to gather enough signatures so that didn't happen, but I still see people whining about it.

We are in the middle of a mass hysteria moment over flags. It is nuts.

                  • People do get hysterical about flags. The past couple of years we’ve had people go around our neighborhood selling or giving out LGBTQIA+ flags and, in my opinion, pressuring folks to fly them during Pride Month.

Then of course we get folks going around and stealing LGBTQIA+ flags out of yards, which is stupid, and then we get other folks who freak out and want to press hate crime charges over it.

Primary elections are also this June so we get to add yard sign dramas and shenanigans on top of flag drama and shenanigans. People seem rather incapable of “live and let live” these days.

EDIT: I don’t have a flagpole but if I did I would fly the BYU Cougars flag I got from the Cougar Club. Then my Ute neighbors with their little UU yard sign thingies would freak out and we could have lots of fan-related drama and shenanigans.

I think in these scenarios, the Alito stuff, the unified Reich stuff, and those that rush to defend it, it’s a proxy convo for people to publicly defend Alito/Trump campaigns idiocy on their eventual drive to rationalize their upcoming Trump support.

Nikki fell yesterday, USUC, JL, AA will fall to the Trump eventuality.

Hey, your opinion of me has improved! In the past you've said I'm already in the tank for Trump.

Yeah, the new flag is great and I understand why they changed it. When I drive into work in the morning, the US flag with our new Utah flag are flowing in the breeze against a backdrop of our beautiful mountains. Love it!

                          • I don't have a strong opinion of the new Utah flag, but anything is better than a flag that is just the state seal. Those are completely lazy and should all be replaced.

I think Arizona, New Mexico, and South Carolina's flags are nice. I know a lot of people like Colorado's, but it doesn't really do anything for me.

Speaking as someone who grew up in a state which also has a flag that just has the state seal on it, the Utah change is good. Just slapping the state seal on the flag is lazy and has no meaning beyond the seal itself. Flags are supposed to be simple yet symbolic. Seals are too busy for a flag. I do not understand people losing their mind pretending they loved a blue background with the state seal stamped on it. The seal didn't get abolished. We just have a flag that acts more like a flag now.
