That's a Lada Niva in the lower left. Russia's finest. For some reason, there were a handful of those in Guatemala when I served there.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Russian Commission Backs Nationalization of Exited Western Businesses (wsj.com)
This is a really, really bad idea but probably the only option they have...well, other than stopping the war and saying sorry.
Nationalization is going to kill any future investment from outside companies. I work for a copmany that has had assets nationalized and you can bet they would never put assets anywhere near that country ever again."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

A negative assessment. Sadly, it is sound IMO. The only offramps are Western/Ukrainian appeasement or internal Russian regime change. Puten has likely assessed that the West will eventually accept his dominance of Ukraine (and beyond if we let him do that). Right now, I think he is wrong. But what about a month from now? Or three months from now? I sincerely pray that we don't let that happen.

Can we even imagine the level of awfulness that’s going to surround him if he’s re-elected?
You’ll have Bannon back in the WH, Manafort will probably make an appearance, Steve Miller as SecDef, Kelly Anne as spokesperson, the Money Honey at Treasury, Jim Jordan as COS, Gaetz in charge of CIA, ugh.

Reading more and more articles arguing that the 29 polish MIGs wouldn't make that much of a difference. What is more important for stopping soviet air dominance is continuing the the supply of SAMs and providing even more sophisticated SAMs. Case in point:

They could also really use some A-10's (if we could get pilots trained to use them). Those columns outside of Kyiv are just begging for them.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostReading more and more articles arguing that the 29 polish MIGs wouldn't make that much of a difference.
