If you use that term, it doesn't make you homophobic/samesexattractedphobic, it just means you refer to homosexuals using a term invented by groups that generally oppose homosexual relationships.

It is a term intended to help control and direct the debate. My guess is that some people do find it offensive, but likely only mildly so.

My homo friends typically find the term SSA funny. Most are former Mo's so they understand why the church prefers to not label them as "gay." As one suffering from opposite sex attraction, I really only care that people understand I was born this way.
