Ummm... I'm not sure that interview helps the case or the "other side"..Originally posted by Jarid in Cedar View PostAnd in shocking news, other sides to the story are starting to surface
This is a former swimmer from the 2006-2010 teams. The only logical conclusion that can be drawn is that he is lying, as is the father of the primary antagonist. Reality falls somewhere between.
He admits he never was contact during the time he was there but they state a substantial amount of the swimmers were questioned.. Admits a swimmer did blackout and was attended too as if it was no big deal. He didn't seem to be the best interview..

Why do you think it's a good idea to have people investigate wrongdoing at the school who graduated from and likely love said school? Do they donate at all to the school? Is there a conflict of interests?Originally posted by Jarid in Cedar View PostYou are not a very good troll. But I agree that it means the U doesn't give a rats ass for what other people think
I'm sure they're capable of doing a fine job, but it sure gives the appearance of impropriety.
I don't think it would be that difficult to find someone who didn't attend the University of Utah who is a lawyer and can investigate this. Whether or not you agree with who they chose, can't you see that it could appear badly that they've chosen their own alumni to perform this investigation? Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

Aside from the investigation, why can't the good doctor tell us now what he knew and when he knew it? That doesn't seem too much to ask. When did he first become aware of the issues with the swimming coach? What did he do about it? This has all gotten a bit too lawyerly, as if people are hiding something and playing for time.
Maybe scratch could reach beyond his obsession with BYU scheduling and FOIA some records to try to answer these questions.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

At the risk of drawing fire from JIC I have to wonder what Larry Scott is thinking of his decision now. Personally, I don't think either of the two is necessarily wrong to include on an independent investigative team, but you would think the U could have tried a little harder."It's devastating, because we lost to a team that's not even in the Pac-12. I don't see any way Sullivan will lead the investigation. He's surely just the local guy -- admitted to the bar in Utah, understands the local culture, etc. When I handle something in another state I want a local guy too. Yes, Sullivan got his J.D. at Utah and has ties to the U., so I can see what you are saying. Keep in mind that Sullivan's considerable reputation is on the line and he has to get this right. The other guy isn't an alum and has an even bigger reputation to protect. Besides, I'll bet the final product will be lengthy and detailed, and any whitewash would be easy to expose. I suppose some people will regard the final report with suspicion because one of the lead lawyers went to the U., but such people will find something wrong with the report anyway.Originally posted by kccougar View PostMichael Glazier: Specializes in defending universities in NCAA compliance cases.

It's where Utah gets their coaches and university presidents.
